Aww, bless her little heart. This breaks my heart. I'm guessing she needs way more therapy than 2 days a week. Medicaid is so hard to deal with! I will be subbing to you, I want to follow her progress.

Mia passed away Dec 15 2017 unfortunately. There isnt a day where i dont miss her deeply

With Lobar Holoprosencephaly there is no division of the brain into hemispheres. If she had this condition, she would essentially have one eye and her nose would not have two nostrils. Semi HPE is a less severe form - there is partial separation of the brain - and all of those children have eyes extremely close together and oftentimes a nose with just one nostril and she doesn't have that either. I think you need a second opinion, although it sounds like there would be no telling how long it would take to get an appointment with Medicaid as her only insurance. It's beyond terrible that she's waited so long to get an eye appt. - inexcusable, in fact. By the way, she is adorable.

​@@queennubianuniverse I am so sorry, We have Holoprosencephaly also. HPE-9, My heart goes out to you. Sometimes, its really hard to function, Moving is difficult, and at times I cant move or get my body and mind to work, and there are so many things that the doctors don't understand. There is a chemical component due to its effect on the pituitary. This video brought tears to my eyes. People don't understand how hard it is! My mother had it and people didn't understand and I have it and so does my son. I didn't know what was wrong and I had to really push to get help for my son so he could have a better life. My sister died at 34, and I didn't think I was going to make it much longer so I started pushing for a diagnosis, and they first tested my son, then me to see if it was genetically inherited. We look fairly normal, but the suffering is real and Its not fair that people who look normal don't get taken serious. I have had many doctors respond to my request for help with statements that refer to others with deformities. Like, well you don't have any deformities, You have all of your fingers and two eyes. It's the internal struggle that is so hard! I could understand her because sometimes I pass out or can not wake up and sometimes I get so disoriented and get lost or fall down. We hear, see and perceive things differently. I am sorry for your suffering and bless her brave soul. Maybe she will meet my Mom and my sister and my cousin, and all who left too soon from this. God bless you, and thank you for sharing this, it is sad but it helped to hear your story and know the story of others who have gone through this sort of thing and I see that the understanding of this is not good and treatment of those with it is terrible and has to get better!
