In all of Bewitched....Darrin and Endora hugging is probably my favorite scene of all time!

What a sweet scene between Darrin and Endora. I never knew they actually had such a tender moment even including 2 embraces!

It was nice to see Andorra in Darren get along. It was a very touching moment. Especially, when Darren hugged Andorra in a sincere and Congratulatory way.

Mine too! I consider myself a SUPER FAN! I LITERALLY SOBBED WHEN Elizabeth died! She was and is the Mom i've always wanted growing up and still do at 55! She and Dick York were the parents I've always wanted! Such treasures and gifts to us all! This episode makes me tear up EVERY TIME! You can definitely see the emotion was totally real because Liz and Dick had children of their own in real life. Liz had 3 with then husband Bill Asher. Bill Asher J. R. born in 1964 Robert Asher in 1965 and Rebecca Asher born in 1969 Dick York had 5 children

A sweet and tender moment between new parents, Samantha & Darrin. Also a rare, sweet and tender moment between new father and new grandmama.

I love the back-and-forth between Eve Arden (nurse) and Agnes Moorehead throughout this whole episode.

Watching this episode again, reminds me of all the strict rules that were in place back in the 1970s (when I first worked as a maternity nurse). Fathers were treated like they were walking bacteria and could only visit during scheduled hours (which limited them to only 2 hours in the morning and 2 hours in the evening.... No staying over-night ever!! ). Absolutely no other visitors besides the fathers and grandparents and only 2 visitors at a time ...... No sibling visitation!! Babies only brought to moms at scheduled times and most were bottle fed (yes, only at scheduled times). She has a private room, when most moms after delivery were in wards (four moms to a single room) or a few semi-private rooms (even most labor rooms were semi-private ...... you labored in one room, delivered in special delivery rooms, then recovered in yet another room ...... then out to the OB unit after recovered). When dads were finally allowed into the labor rooms, many just were very hesitant to do so ....... we would on average, have a few dads passing out every week or so.

I thought it was the 1960s. By the time I was born in 1971, my dad was allowed in the delivery room. He was there again in 1974 and 1978 when my brothers were born, even though he was told to go home when my youngest brother was expected, because "nothing's happening." Luckily he did stay. My brother was born not long after.

My favorite episode!!!!!! Dick York and Agnes Moorhead are great together.... ❤️❤️.... Eve Arden is so funny and cute.... I watch it all the time... I record it all the time.... 🌹🌹🌹....

Samantha's hair is perfect. Too silly.

Endora and Darrin may have been at each other thoarts but it was these moments that were sweet.

That nurse used her one line beautifully!!!

Agnes Moorehead looked so lovely here. That OUTFIT😍

Nice to see Darrin and Endora set aside their animosities for a change.

I bet most men were ridiculed for having a girl, first...I was born in the 60s, too, and my father received such ribbings that he wasn't man enough to have a boy, first instead of a girl. The idiots who ridiculed him, never thought that their boys would end dating somebody's daughter! This is the episode which introduces cousin Serena. The baby was actually her son since she was really pregnant herself.

I’ve seen so many fakes,” my child’s in the army and he’s changed so much..” you find out they are some drugged out hippy living with hamsters, no children and it’s one big lie. This show was make believe. People were different though. Maybe because of world war 2, they were respectful and kind- men and women. People are so mean and foul. Mostly I am tired of man bashing. Sexism permitted by a fad. I have two beautiful daughters. I’d protect them with my life. I’m real not some fake with seven subscribers with no content.

This was also true in the 1970s, in most places. I worked as a maternity RN starting in the early 1970s, a lot of changes occurred during my decades long career.

Bewitched was my all time favorite TV show!! I am so happy to see them putting the show on the internet!! RIP SAMANTHA STEVENS!!

I love how they colourised the episodes…I first saw this in the 80s on tv and have rewatched it many times but in colour really makes it come alive 🥰🥰🥰

My favorite part is....The nurse says, all these flowers aren't allowed in (Sam's) room cause it would suck out the oxygen....... 🤔But you can smoke in a hospital. 🤪😉🥰😄💋

Now you can't smoke in the parking lot. When my dad lay in his hospital bed dying and I was so screwed up I went outside to smoke and some guy in a golf cart rolled up and yelled at me for smoking on the premises. I said my dad is up there about to die shortly so im smoking my cigarette 🖕. And I finished it

I have all 8 seasons of Bewitched on DVD and that is one of the funniest episodes ever made. Darrin nearly makes a nervous wreck out of The Nurse (Eve Arden). It is also the episode where Darrin meets Serena for the first time.

Seriously? There must be a lot of young people commenting. A lonngggg time ago it was normal that everyone in the delivery room wore a mask. Endora stated she had just arrived from the delivery room.

Tabitha, in this episode, is played by infant girl Cynthia Black. In Her further appearances during this season, she was played by two sets of twins, Heidi and Laura Gentry, then by Julie and Tamara young. Erin and Diane Murphy tooks over in fall 1966 when the series went to color. Erin took over the role solo in 1968.

And Endora was upset when she first found out that Sam was pregnant, feeling it would tie her to Darrin and diapers and a gaggle of babies. That changed here and later in the second season, but when Endora found out that Tabitha was a witch, she couldn't be more of a doting grandmother. 🙂

Endora no matter her attitude towards Darren we all know she accepts him deep down because he makes Samantha happy. She loves to harmlessly tease him with magic. Darren’s mother however never accepted Samantha.

I thing Darrin's Mother accepted her but she was catty at times. Like she was looking to provoke someone to feel victimized after. She probably thought it was the onyl way to draw attention on her from the others - she did thd same with her husband and they almost got divorced.. I think is jsut her need ți show she still is relevant, something like that.

Yeah it’s a shame he couldn’t stay on the show, I liked him better than the other Darren that replaced him.

Who would’ve ever thought that Tabitha would be on passions years later and then name her daughter after Endora. I love the crossover.

It was normal to wear masks in the delivery room back then. Even now if it’s a surgical delivery, masks are worn in the delivery room.

My mom had whooping cough as a little girl in the 1940’s. She remembers her father and the doctor who sat up with her at the worst of it smoking in the hospital room.

Oh yes, back then newborns were only brought out at scheduled times. Also breast feeding was largely NOT done. Another rule is that the fathers had to wear a gown over their regular clothes, in order to hold their newborn. I sometimes forget how different maternity care was, when I worked as a maternity nurse and had my children in the 1970s.

Some do. Lots of variables. But also, in those days and before, women would get themselves together after the birth, resting, and all that. haha

It depends. I mean if you are talking ten minutes after pushing baby out then no. She will typically be a sweaty, flushed faced, messy haired sight. With some rest and a few hours she would be fine
