    weloveswatches yea! She seems to like it so I can’t wait to start giving her oatmeal. We’ll be back at the pediatrician for her 6 month visit and I guess she’ll tell us what foods we can start incorporating. It’s a mess though! Riley likes the cereal but she puts her hand in her mouth when we try to feed her and it gets all over the place! Lol

Right now he's is eating baby food..carrots.peas.pear.apple. After his bottle of course. This morning he had his bottle then couple of spoons of oatmeal cereal and i put 3 of his baby spoons of pears in this thing that looks like a pacifier but its actually u can put baby food or actual fruits for them to suck on or bite. Now im more comfy giving him baby food. I knew when he was ready for it. Why u start slow and experiment. He just turned 5 months on Nov 4th.

    @@merimamermaid6096 aww my little one turned 5 months on the 5th Nov! I tried it and I don’t know ... see I give baby anti-reflux milk, which is essentially thicker than regular milk due to the fact that his vomiting was getting too much and I became obsessed with weight and numbers and averages. And since then he’s been on that formula. Now in rice cereal you’re to add the usual milk but it made the consistency really thick, I thought adding more milk might help and the food he took really well with no problems; he was a happy chappy for the rest of the day but around 4am he wakes up crying in pain and turns out he was constipated. In his nappy was something you do not want to see for such a little bubba. So I decided to stop, and wait until he’s 6 months and then start him on regular formula again. I dunno... I’m a little confused 😅 and I’m afraid I just about produce enough breastmilk to feed him at night.

  • @Xessa82

    @Xessa82

    4 жыл бұрын

    Yes they tend to wake up less at night but that definitely is not a good reason to start feeding them like this. People tend to introduce it to early which can cause intestinal/stomach problems just because they want to try ro make baby sleep longer. Nope not a good enough reason. The only real reason to feed cereal like this when they're younger is if they have reflus because it tends to help with that. You should definitely steer clear of rice cereal though and go for one of the other kinds. Rice cereal has no real nutritional value for them and it's basically empty calories. Also there's been reports of doses or arsenic found in rice cereal. Any of the other grains would be so much better for baby.

  • @Xessa82

    @@leilanituncap6340 it says 6 months on the package because baby's digestive system is not ready to properly handle cereals nor other kinds of baby food. Just because your kid is sitting up and acting interested in more solid food does not mean baby is truly ready. Yes babies may show signs of being interested in baby food and may do all the right things at varying ages but the digestive system's readiness does not hapoen at various ages, it's just at 6 months. There's clear reasons why the food and snacks and stuff all have an age listed on the box to tell you when it can be given. They don't do this just for the hell of it or because they wanna deprive your child of experiencing food. Again it's all about their health which sorry moms or dads, you don't always know best.

    Rice cereal really shouldn't be given to babies at all anyway. It has no real nutrional value and fills baby up to much which causes that baby to miss out on things it brrfs more to be healthy. Also pretty sure there's been studies showing that rice cereal contains some levels of arsenic in it which is horrible for health.

    Nasir펠라즈 switch to oat cereal! Rice does contain trace amounts of arsenic and can cause constipation. Oats are much better nutritionally, but can contain gluten which may cause a reaction if your baby is intolerant. No matter what you feed baby, make sure to do your own research, start slowly and monitor baby’s reactions.
