Ems&Rowan Not in the wild. Most animals, especially small animals have very short lifespans. (Dying from storms, eaten by predators, fighting competitors, disease, etc)

I doubt a mother will disown her babies if humans touch them because once I had a rabbit have a nest in our yard too and we decided to leave it alone for that reason, but then one day it rained and flooded!! I couldn't help but to go look and see if they were okay. Come to find out the babies were underwater with their noses barely peaking out above the water :'( I had to pull them out and get the water out of the shallow hole and once I was done (I used gloves, but I think the human scent might've been on them?) I gently put them back in and every day after that I checked on them... soon time passed and they got bigger and bigger, so mama was definitely still around :D Then one day... they all were gone, so I'm guessing they left the nest!!

Amanda Newman A bunny mother will never leave her Young ones onless they are ill a bonny dosn't care if the babys smell of human or not the have the instenct just like us humen to Watch over their Youngs till they get old enought to take care of them selves. i know that because where i live we have wild bunnies any where i have been petting a Young bunny in my own yard and the mother still took care of it it's the same for wolves, wild dogs and wild cats, the only animals that cares about their babys smelling of human is the birds and other animals not feeding their babies milk

wow, I remember watching this back in 2009. I was like 7 at that time. And now I am 14 and officially in high school. Man, I loved this video so much :3. This was childhood and would always make me cry with the soothing music. Funny how today I was bored, and was curious about this video. I was like ," Hm... I wonder if that baby bunny video is still in KZread.." AND HERE IT IS!!! WOW! Looking back at this, when I was 9 years old, had brought back a lot of memories of the old videos I used to watch and enjoy. Like sneezing panda, Charlie bit me..again, Dramatic Chipmunk (This had made me laugh for years XD), and old minecraft animations and songs. I love this video :3

I can personally support you with a real story. once after a windy day, a couple of baby doves were blown out of their nest, we found both and they were already beginning to fledge, but the first one we found was in bad condition, he didn't last long, but the second was ok, so we got a small box, some dryer lint, and tied the box to a mountain laurel we had in our yard while I held him close for heat. the mom came back and I witnessed that baby learn to fly and survive

So adorable. We found four baby bunnies in our strawberry garden. Unfourtunately they had made that their home, and two of them got caught in the wire netting set up. My dad cut them free and my brother and I carried them back to their home. It was amazing to be holding them. We pulled up all of the netting and are allowing them to live in the garden.

A neighbor showed me a family of wild baby bunnies he found while mowing his grass. The Mother Doe did not return. I was very young and I took them in, against my Mother's wishes... They were so precious. I raised them with a toy baby bottle for weeks. They thrived! I felt great! I finally proved that I could take care of a pet. A few days later they were gone, lock, stock & home-made hutch. My Mother let them out while I was in school. It still hurts all these years later.

For anyone thinking that unattended bunnies mean they've been abandoned or their mother is dead: Mother rabbits only spend a few minutes in the burrows at night to feed the young. Staying away so much is actually a tactic to prevent leading predators to the burrow. Touching them won't makebtge mother's reject them, but risk of injury is a possibility. It's just best to leave them be. Don't relocate them. Don't take them in (illegal in a lot of states).

Thank you for uploading this video. It gave me a little hope for humanity. Today I witnessed our lawnmowing guy laugh as he carelessly kicked the bunny he had killed under a tree. I had been admiring since the spring, but only got to hold it when I went to bury it. It was just as cute as this one.

Just to settle something, i work at a farm. The way he handled the rabbits would not have killed the babies. Until the bunnies can open their eyes you cannot touch them. These bunnies had open eyes and was walking. Meaning the mother would not abandon the babies.

I agree with you, he probably did touch it before, the rabbit wasn't shy at all as if it knew him already. If he hadn't touched it, the rabbit would have never come out of it's hole.

It is a myth that animals will kill, eat, or abandon their young if people touch them. Its a story told to children so they leave the baby animals alone. Adorable video, so sweet that they are so calm and friendly.

When i was younger, my dad was outside in the backyard mowing the grass and he noticed something jump right in front of the lawn mower and he stopped to check it out. i went outback too to see what it was and it was 4 very tiny bunnies and their eyes were open so im guessing around 4 or 5 weeks maybe. Of course we waited for the mom to come for few days, but she never did so we took them to this wildlife sanctuary place and they were fine ever since.

You can build them a nestbox and line it with hay. Rabbits that live inside or outside as pets don't need ground to burrow into because they line the nestbox with their fur they have pulled from there stomach to keep them warm if they intend on raising them if not they will freeze to death
