The babies' eyes are opening and they are becoming much more mobile, time to introduce them to their half brothers and sisters :)

It probably has to do with the spreading of diseases. Although mostly rats seem to get mentioned... It was very easy to get sick in ye olden days so fear of mice and rats probably was a rational thing back then. So they pass it on from generation to generation as humans and some animals do and it becomes a part of our psyche. Of course a lot of time has passed since the black plague. Today of course the risk is much lower with vaccinations etc., but some of that 13th century mentality still plagues us today. See what I did there?

before the discovery of microorganisms and the germ theory of disease no one had any idea that rats or mice could spread disease. as late as the C18th people thought disease was spread by miasma, "bad air". the entire sewer system of London was built to remove the bad smells in the belief that their absence would improve public health, of course it happened to remove the cholera bacteria too so it worked, but not for the reasons they thought. back in the C14th at the time of the great plague the illness was seen as a punishment from god and people thought you could catch it by looking in the eyes of a victim, and the general theory of medicine at a professional level back then was all about the classical concept of balance of the humours.

Urgent question!! My mom and I had found a baby mouse in the shed today. It was laying next to its dead mother. It is very pink with no fur and is about the size of a quarter. We bought kitten formula and mix it with water and feed it every two hours. I rub it's belly after every feeding but it still hasn't gone to the bathroom yet. I cant seem to find anywhere how often it should go. I'm starting to worry. Do you think it could be dehydrated or something?
@CreekValleyCritters
7 жыл бұрын
At this young an age they do not eat a whole lot or poop a whole lot. Make sure you do not over stimulate it, you do not want to chafe its rear end. Give it around a minute tummy massage, but no longer than 30 seconds rear end massages and then only very gently, with something very soft. Some people prefer to use their finger, a very soft cloth or a make up sponge. Usually they will pee after feeding and stimulation but they do not always poop, this they do in their beds. As long as it is eating well, is reasonably active, is peeing occasionally (although most times is best) and you find poop in its bed, then things are O.K. Sometimes by the time you find it, it will not have eaten for several hours so then it takes some time for it to have enough pee and poo to show.

@CreekValleyCritters

I usually do not breed my mice, most of my mice are rescued from the local pet store. These three litters were a semi-accidental breeding. I am not planning to breed my mice again, since I have to keep them all. There are just so few good homes out there for mice. I currently have 18 mice, about the limit of what I can handle :P

Funny how babies can get along but adults can't. Very similar to human behaviour.

Let me just say, I loooovvvveee this show. I find myself telling people about it like a soap opera episode review☺ This needs to go on a major broadcast network. Favorite ep. is Bae laying into Toby because he did not understand "every 4 days" not "every day" Totally hilarious.
2:44 fluff bundle 😆
That is a lot of cute baby mice

Yes, Atticus loves to be picked up and cuddled, he is the best little low key birdy pet :)
Awwwwww little babies
when you realize your hand will go nowhere for the next hour, so cute
Two little grey ones keep coming in my room during the day. They're tiny little guys, I don't mind them but my mom does. When they go in the other rooms, they get jumped at and shooed away. maybe that's why they're in my room so much. I just let them be. Can't catch them anyways, if I wanted to.
awwwwwwwww so cute the look so much like the sisters i have pixel lunar and kiwi
I'll take an order of...them ALL please. but for real these babies are the best.

Most mice have a healthy respect for heights and will not jump. The quail is terrified of the mice and would not hurt them.
3:14 the little hand!OMG!so cute
so cute
Amelia looks like Toby.
Oh goodness this makes me mice my mice! I used to keep mice, but after I had two accidental litters, I took a break :P
so sweet..and does mice need TNR too? I just wonder..for their life quality..
cute!
Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!!!! 😍🥰

My two mice passed away yesterday :(

Hi I've just recently came across your channel I'm a big fan of mice I love them so much I'm just wondering do you breed them for snake food as I will subscribe but if you do I won't I'm strongly against it if you don't breed them for that purpose why do you breed them I'm just curious to know there so cute
