@@therealkanisk I dont think she's hiding her sadness, her story has her coming to terms with the necessity of death and accepting it as a natural conclusion to life. Im sure there are still moments when she mourns, but I think on the whole, she really is as happy as she seems because she understands that death is just another facet of existing and should be celebrated just as much as life is

hutao's past is indeed a sad thing, but it cannot be denied that thanks to this sad past, we have an energetic and vivacious hutao like now, I'm quite sure her grandpa will be very happy about his grandchild's growth and will be a little sad because he couldn't be with hutao longer ;)

The mixture of the really amazing and cute art style and sad backstory of the lore make this hit harder than it does normally.

Ok, why is everyone making her backstory more sad than it actually is. Like, her back story (her vision story I presume is what everyone is talking about) is her grandfather died, and she inherited the funeral parlor. Yes she was sad, and went to find her grand father in the place in between. But she couldn’t find him. But then she realize that no previous director has ever gone there after death, because the place is only for those with regrets. So she took inspiration and decided to live her life to the fullest. When she return the next day, she found her vision.

It's hurting my feelings and my heart. I realized what she felt I was feeling, I lived without a mother for almost 8 years when my evil father was still alive and chose to marry another woman. 2 weeks ago my grandmother died, and seeing your video made my heart hurt, now I am 27 years old, and this year I am 28. Even though i never play genshin impact before, but still it's hurting my feelings.

I'm not at all familiar with Genshin or its story but from what bits and pieces I hear of elsewhere, I think Hu Tao has something to do with ghosts, right? And from this video's comments I hear she has a sad backstory but kept a positive attitude afterwards. That's pretty similar to the character in my profile picture, which, at the time of writing this comment, is Yuyuko Saigyouji from Touhou. Yuyuko also has a bit of a sad backstory in that (when she was alive), she had a curse of a supernatural ability of that if she wished death upon someone at any moment it would happen right then and there, so at one point she got really upset about that and decided to unalive, but returned to Hakugyokurou (th e Gensokyo equivalent of the underworld, kind of) as a ghost princess thingy but had very little memories of her past life. In the story of Perfect Cherry Blossom, the 7th game in the series, she was collecting the energy of Spring into Hakugyokurou in order to make the Saigyou Ayakashii cherry tree bloom, which the tree was deadly to living humans because it would entrance them to sleep under it and slowly drain their resources, and collecting the Spring energy prolonged the winter season in Gensokyo. Apparantley Yuyuko wanted to find what was buried under the tree and needed it to bloom inmorder to do so, but the Hakurei shrine maiden, Reimu Hakurei stopped her, mainly because it was cold in Gensokyo despite already being like March or something, well into what should be the Spring season. This led to Yuyuko never finding out what was buried under the tree, but it is revealed to the player that it was her own body that was buried there, which is probably a good thing she never found out about that,
