Another snake goes quietly into the bucket. Marissa must have that non threatening energy.

Marissa is a hoot. Little dry comments out of nowhere are really funny, and her love of animals is really sweet. She was determined to see that baby horse! 😁 Good video, as always. Some of these removals are so clean and easy(?), just pick them up with the tongs, put them in the bucket and off you go. No water hoses, having to move bricks and blocks, no dismantling hot tubs, pool pumps, etc. I know that has to be deflating/frustrating on a summer Phoenix day when it’s 846 degrees. 😩

@@yupyupyup4444 those cute little Puma ankle socks. My friend wears them and I always get a kick when she does. She’s not particularly big on brands or labels, but she’s religious about her little Puma socks! 😊 it’s become a running joke…”Got your Pumas on today?” Kicks off her shoes and proudly beams. 😂 When I saw your clip, I was “Ohmigosh, another one!” 😉

@@yupyupyup4444 That's awesome. I love getting, as a gift, things I don't like to buy for myself (socks, T-shirts, etc.). Yeah, my friend swears by her little Puma anklets(?)...comfortable, cozy, well made, durable, etc. I need to buy some, now that it's shorts and sneaker weather here and I love low, ankle socks. All mine are just plain white with a yellow stripe across the toe line. *shrug* I need some colors and big lettering/words!

I never thought I'd see Marissa get more excited than when she gets to pick up a speckled rattle snake but it got beaten out by the cutest little foal! Marissa always makes my day, she's so bright and happy. We all need to be a little more Marissa-esque. ❤

True. She’s a great ambassador/face for this stuff. If someone that bubbly and cheerful can be okay with venomous reptiles, then we all can. Education is key, and makes all the difference, and this channel lays it out like no other. I’ve learned more from Bryan’s “walk and talks” in a year than any other outlet/resource in my 55 years. That’s just true. 😊 And with that knowledge/info, the fear and dread I’ve carried my entire life fades away. Hard to be irrationally terrified of something when they’re no longer such an unknown/mysterious thing!

We call the stickers that Marissa was pulling out of her socks, "foxtails." They grow everywhere I've lived in Southern California. The WORST is when they work their way into a dog's coat, skin, even deep into ears. Horrible when they get that far.

truly the devil. Cats get them too, eyes, ears, nostrils... I agree, horrible stuff.

I do not like them. I did just read they can be deadly to dogs if they get lodged in their nose. Scary.

What a great episode. Thank you all so much for the wildlife education!! A class or at least a quarter/semester of venomous snake/reptile handling should be required, early education for anyone living in the deserts and other areas with large snake populations. This, of course, would have to be taught without actual hands on of venomous critters. I think it would help dispel so much of the phobia surrounding these beautiful beings. Please keep on posting!❤❤❤

In the 60's & 70's we had a cattle ranch in E. Texas. Periodically we would notice that one of our cows or horses would have a swollen side of their face. Seemed to happen to the cattle more than to the horses. While we have all 4 types of Amer. venomous snakes in E. Texas, most likely the bites were from either a cottonmouth or a rattler. My guess would be cottonmouth when they drink from the "stock pond". Rattlers would be hunting mice & rats around the hay & feed. We never had to call out our vet. Since livestock are too big for prey, I assume that most bites are either "dry bite" or a lower volume of venom.
