    Love the Tripp Tapp high chair-and the notion of keeping baby with the family at their level vs. separated in their own high chair. my nieces and nephews grew up at the family table in Stokke's- I'm happy to learn of this baby attachment. brilliant! And highchairs with all of their nooks and crevices get so gross quickly-stoke's are easy to clean

    I have the Nuna Pipa, the baby bjorn bouncer, the Ergo baby carrier, the Love to Dream Swaddle. I think the Nuna Pipa is great. We use the dream drape, and it's very sturdy and easy to install. We travelled with it and so have installed it with and without the base, and it's been great. The baby bjorn bouncer is an absolute life saver. I can't imagine what I would've done without it!! I put my baby in his bouncer in the bathroom while I'm taking a shower, and while I'm eating lunch, and also it's great for babies with reflux, like our little guy. After he has his bottle (or now even after food), we were advised to keep him inclined for 20 mins after eating. I would buy this as a gift for others for sure!! The Ergo baby carrier was too big for when our baby was a newborn (he was almost 8lbs). The carrier covered his entire head (and we have a longer baby than normal). So I used my ring sling or balboa carrier and that was definitely better for the first little while. However, once he was around 3 months this carrier was all we would use. It's great for wearing him even around the house and have use of both hands. It's a must for the airport! When you're flying with baby, which both my husband and I have done alone with baby (wasn't the original plan!), the carrier made it doable. All carriers get super hot, something to keep in mind. It does feel very secure, and he loves it. The Love to Dream Swaddle, we used it when he was a newborn. We were a little crazy with the many different swaddles, as we wanted him to develop good sleep habits from the beginning. Anyways, this one never worked as well for us, as he would still get startled and wake himself up, plus being able to touch his face would also wake him up. We used it as a backup in case he had peed through everything else. The other thing was that he grew out of it quite quickly. We prefer the halo swaddles. For a stroller, we went for the UppaBaby Vista, though at first I really wanted a baby zen yoyo, as we travel so often. However, we also live in Toronto, and we get a lot of snow, and we needed a sturdier stroller. This one didn't feel that sturdy, so we opted for something more solid. The UppaBaby is super nice, but takes up your whole trunk! lol! I looked at that highchair, but my brother-in-law bought us the PegPerego Siesta and I must say I love it! It comes with an infant insert and fully reclines, and again for our baby's reflux, this came in super handy. Plus also as a pumping Mama, it was very helpful to have baby at my height. It's stylish and super functional, he can also sit at the table. The only downside so far that we've noticed is that the front wheels are not multi-directional. Otherwise really pleased with it!

    I LOVE the Baby Bjorne Bouncer. It is by far the best bouncer ever!!! I’m a nanny for 4 little kids. The 2 youngest have used this bouncer, and both have loved it. It’s really simple, lightweight, portable, etc. It’s nice because it can do soft/gentle bounces, but it can also do “big” bounces. Both babies are screamers. They can and will scream for hours no matter what me or their parents do. The only way to calm them down is to put them in the baby Bjorne bouncer. It cradles them so well without being restricting, it reclines, the fabric is soft without being hot, and best of all the cover can easily come off to be cleaned. The downside is that it is pricey, but it’s sturdy and will last a lifetime and it doesn’t bounce very well on its own. It can bounce for a few seconds until it starts to slow down, so that means you have to sit by your baby and bounce them until they get a little older/heavier and they can make it bounce a little bit. I still love it because it’s better than having a baby screaming so much that they choke or having to literally run around the house doing squats while rocking them back and forth. I’m definitely going to buy this bouncer when I have my own kids. These babies are already giving me grey hairs and I’m only 21yo :)

    Hello! Thank you for the video with so many important informations. I bought the Babybjorn bouncer and the Yoyo+ stroller (with the newborn bassinet). Could not yet try them yet since I am still pregnant. My advice on the Stokke High chair: I purchased the High chair from the brand Hauck instead of the Stokke because of the huge price difference between them. Here in Europe you pay around 300 USD for a stokke High Chair (with all acessories), while the Hauck high chair you pay around 110 USD for the same use.

    Hi Eli, appreciate all the videos that you do for us. Could you teach us how to change up the Nuna Pipa as the baby grows. For example, is there a way to lengthen the crotch belt? Also, any tips on switching out the Nuna Pipa once a baby needs to be in a convertible car seat? I expect that I wont be able to detach the latch or latch guides from the car.

    Thanks for the video. Only thing is I wish you hadn't said that you can't take a baby home without an infant car seat. You can't take a baby home without a car seat, but it doesn't have to be the infant carrier kind. Being someone with a spinal cord injury an infant car seat was pointless and we never even got one because I would never be able to take it in and out of the car or carry my little one in it. As long as you get a convertible car seat rated to 5 or 6 pounds you can use it from day one.

  • @SF-pe3qf

    @SF-pe3qf

    4 жыл бұрын

    The Nuna Mixx bassinet with the Nuna bassinet stand is approved for overnight sleep and it’s been a great solution for my kiddos. It’s lower profile/takes up less space than some other bassinets and light enough that it can be moved room to room in a pinch. I also like it better for travel/road trips than say, a pack-and-play, up until kiddo is rolling over or too old/big for it. I typically use it in my bedroom until about 3-4 months and then transition kiddo to their own room/crib. I’ve used it on the stroller for walks up to about 6 months before switching to the Mixx stroller seat. I’ve used it for several of my foster kiddos now and won’t go back to the pack and play bassinet I used before.

    Chicco fit 2 is on my “avoid” list. Doesn’t fit tiny newborns well, and recommendation is to keep kiddo rear facing to limits of a convertible seat, typically 3-4+. Fit2 designed to last until 2years (often does not even last that long before babies outgrow it by height). So you still need to move to a convertible seat to keep rear facing after Fit2 is outgrown - ie you do not save money by skipping a seat/stage by buying the Fit2. Save money with a traditional, (usually)less expensive infant seat such as Chicco Keyfit or Britax BSafe35 (Nuna Pipa is also great if you can stomach the price tag) then transition to convertible car seat sometime between 6 months and 1 year. -CPST :)

    Wait...I won't be able to leave the hospital without an infant carseat, specifically? My husband and I already purchased a convertible carseat that can fit infants as small as 4lbs. Are you telling me I'll need to get an additional carseat anyway?

    Well, you have several months to try to budget for baby essentials, but there's definitely things you can skip. You can get a budget infant seat at first since you won't use it for as long as a convertible anyway, they are required to pass the same safety tests, you can then move to a quality convertible seat or skip an infant seat altogether if you get a seat that accommodates newborns too. A bouncer is ultimately a commodity and nice to have but if you don't have the money or the space, you can skip it too. You can get a cheaper high chair too, the main advantage of the one they suggest is longevity, which is also a common selling point for higher end baby items. There is definitely items where you shouldn't even look at the budget versions like strollers and baby carriers, with them you get exactly what you pay for and the less money you pay, the more an item turns out to be a piece of junk, having a stroller that can't be easily maneuvered and a baby carrier that kills your back are both things you will regret very quickly. Ultimately just do your research and get the best fit and quality your budget allows for.

    I’m due in May too and my son is 3! I’m trying to decide if I need a double stroller or not. Our current everyday stroller is the Mountain Buggy Nano and we love it (great for all terrain). So I’m thinking we could get the double version of that? But we wouldn’t be able to use it until the baby is a bit older...

    "You cant leave the hospital without an infant car seat" Can we just take a moment to clarify. There are MANY carseats that are suitable for infants as small as 5lbs, that are not the infant bucket style. All you need to leave the hospital is a carseat suitable to the weight of the infant. It doesnt matter if it comes out of the car or not.

    To me it's insane that you need to have a car seat at all. I mean, not everyone has cars, so they're forcing people to spend a ton of money on an item theyll never use again. It should be illegal to demand that parents have some item to release their child from hospital

  • @CalamityJane031

    @@malgorzataiwona yes. But unless you're walking home from the hospital, babies need to be properly secured. You don't need to buy a new one, and a budget friendly seat from Walmart will pass the legal safety requirements as a $500 seat. But just because a parent doesnt have a car, doesnt mean the kids wont ever be in a car, and they still need to be properly restrained.
