ABOUT THE PROGRAMME
Shadow’s Whispers combines creators who share an intuitive approach to ideas and expressing storylines.
Hofesh Shechter, one of the most exciting contemporary dance artists, recognized as both a choreographer and composer, will create a new piece for this programme. In 2016 Shechter made his first piece especially for NDT 1, Clowns, and in 2018 he created VLADIMIR, that cemented the maker’s organic and feverish movement language as part of the NDT repertoire.
After their NDT 2 premiere The Grey (2017) and their highly praised first piece for NDT 1 Take Root (2019), Imre van Opstal & Marne van Opstal are returning with another world premiere they will create for NDT 1. These emerging voices are exemplary of how NDT commits to young, boundary pushing makers, and how dancers can transition into the art of choreography.

Hello! When are you planning to have more online screenings for this one? We would really love to watch! : )

I really love this piece. I was so fascinated with the aesthetic of the piece. The floor, the lighting, the look of vintage, of memory. It was like looking into a person's brain as they were seeing it and thinking about the situation but going on with their daily life. The portrait of having everything together but not. I loved the movement. The running to the beat was one of my favorite parts because it was so consistent and to me represented life and how we move. Sometimes without even knowing it. The movement and movement quality was so memorizing!! How can I watch this piece again because I was going to but I was too late to buy tix yesterday. I need to see this again. Help!!! Lol

God this is so tedious. Rehash of all the same NDT and Batsheva movement qualities we've been seeing for decades now, not an original thought in there. When are large companies going to have the courage to invest in new ideas for dance? Both these choreographers are incredible dancers but that doesn't mean they actually have any original ideas.
