In America in the 90's we had a mix between 5point harness and the seat sheild, but no company in the United States makes seat shields anymore. Atleast the child wouldn't slide out of ours in a rolling accident because of the 3 point harness. But I didn't even know other places still used them

Yes, shields are antiquated…my brother had a car seat with one around 2003…I suppose that is why the AAP and the NHTSA recommends that each position should be stayed in until the child outgrows their car seat's recommendations.

That would be safer if it had a tether but a 5 point harness is a lot safer

Even safer then the Kiddy impact shield is keeping your children resurfacing as long as possible

oddly enough that is actually the type of car seat that I had growing up.

Great now your skull can slam into a hard shield instead of snapping backwards from the velocity of the car.

What about abdominal trauma cause by the impact shield? With the 5 point harness, the impact is spread out across the entire body. The shield keeps the impact in one area, increasing risk of severe injury to internal organs. Just like a seat belt. That's why the 5 point harness was made.

That one seat caused a lifelong brain injury in my 3 yr old

The chair is a death trap, the child is not stuck at all. at a crash the child flies out.

This would be better if it click in the side. An also it doesn't look comfy it would be different if it came over the children chest an clicked in like a carnival ride or a fair ride.

Snvlogs there used to be car seats like that here in the us but they made them illegal. They had boosters too with the impact shield connected to one side of the booster that would swing to the side.

They at least need a 5 point belt

and why is the kid in the front if clearly she had a back seat

This doesn’t look so safe

this is just sad how it is aginst most state laws

that doesn´t look safe at all!!!

"Best protection for your child"?! This most certainly is not. It does absolutely nothing to stop a child's head from flying forward. My under 6 year olds sit rear facing because that IS the best and safest option for them.

Rebecca W so your child is 4 or 5 and sits back facing? How in the hell does your child fit? Kids should sit in a back facing seat til at least 2 years of age.

This is not smart at all and the worst carseat on the market

I don't like it... at all.

Also in the crash happens the seat belt holder pushes against this child's chest
