I know you want to tame it but the best thing is that the parents give it food from the start and untill the end, be patient "it is very important", and why you want to let the parents feed him only is because the vitamins and the food that the mother and the father canarie gives, a human will never be able to it, no matter how hard you try. you have to let it get a little big first before you take it out every day. Another tip, if you do not want its breeders to stop feeding it, you can separate the male from the female when you start to notice that they behave strangely or when you start to see that the mother have threads in her mouth to build a new nest. You can also notice the male if this happens, he will start behaving strangely, (sing loudly and hit the female or take feathers from the female). The female can take care of her little cubs herself without the male being involved, this has happened to me and then I have moved the male from the female and then the problems have stopped. I promise you that they will still be just as tame if you start working with them when you see that it can handle itself on its own, but very hard work is needed. By the way, I saw that the other also died, this may be due to what you gave or give the bird, I myself have tried to buy special powder for canary birds from a special shop, you would mix the powder with water, they said, I feed them and they had gastrointestinal problems and eventually died. Maybe she wanted to learn the baby to eat from her hand since i have 2 canaries to and they got 5 eggs the mom is sitting on them but my dad wants to learn them to eat from our hands and if she feeds the babies when there young they well think she is there mom and they well eat from her hand ones they are older 🥰🥰

What do they eat ?

I hope you know that there are secretion that the mother gives to the baby in initial days just like milk. Always let the parents feed the baby because the regurgitated feed has elements from parents stomach too. If ever you have to feed them do it together with the parents to supplement only.

But the thing is I have 2 canaries they have made a family and one baby has made it but after almost a month the mom got new eggs but the dad only fed the baby and if the parents stop feeding it that means the baby is old enough to eat by it’s own and you have to leave the baby alone for some time in it’s cage with it’s parents since the parents well learn it how to eat so that they don’t have to feed it but you keep takeing it out so that’s why the baby never got a chance to learn but take my advice when you get a baby leave them alone let the mom and dad feed it then when it’s old enough the mom and dad well learn it but you can’t go near them since they are scared I know that you want the baby to think your it’s mom but I have advise when the baby can’t fly and when it’s older and learns to eat and drink learn it to sit on your finger or your head pet the baby do that every day and it well learn it might not be the same how you did it but my dad went to the store to buy food for them and he asked some people if he is allow to feed the baby and they sayde no only the parents so don’t feed it and it well stay alive and it’s better if the mom just feeds it

The bird needs food and heat. If you don’t have heat use a blanket or something to cover up the bird.

Hello! I might be some years late but i just got a baby canary and it sadly died because there was food stuck in its throat, well i think that’s the reason. But do you have any tips and things on how to take care of them or what i should do because there is still 3 eggs left that haven’t hatched oh and is it okay that the mom is sitting on it?

She didn't kill the birds. I had hen that took care of her young once and suddenly stopped feeding one day and both died. My other hen had 3 babies and left them so now I'm trying to raise them. You simply can't safe all of them and you can't know for sure what's the cause of death either. Its just nature.

Hello that’s the syringe using for injection.. just remove the needle and you’re ready to use it..🤗and the powder is cerelac for baby birds that can be bought in the bird market..😊

Good job, You should feed them more worms and insects in the wild so that the baby has enough nutrients...

I feed them holding in hand make sure the belly full also belly white that is food and keep them warm future the light the night in the case baby smart if the cold they come near by the light 🚦 I very successful about it

You didn’t give it enough variety. You can actually see it gagging in revolt every time you approach it with that slime. But what choice does it have… the other one learned…. 😞 They can’t just eat that formula they need eggs and vegetables

i have to baby canary one is 5 days old and one is 6 days old the mom and dad don’t want them anymore so i feed them baby formula myself i took them out the cage because the mom want to kill them i put them in a bowl with cotton and stuff to keep it warm i hope they make it! do you have any advise ?

no she dident the mom got new eggs and she dident have time for her chick she needed to sit on her eggs so she stopped feeding the chick so it died

So sad really when our loving birds die its a black day 😢

16th day and still as frail as the day he was born

these little birds need constant food and larger solid food bits, they also need to be kept warm. I could see it would die because every time a finger was stuck in its face without feeding it. To busy trying to get a camera shot for youtube. Sad. The cages were tiny and unkept with dirty water, I fear for the other birds too.

I wonder if you could provide me with a food prescription ..

Lo siento por el , pero cometiste el error de ponerle papel servilleta. Eso lo hace resbalar un poco,y suele quedar con sus patas en malas posturas. La alimentación, seguramente no ha sido la correcta, aunque aguantó bastante,luego pasó lo que tenía que pasar. Al menos lo intentaste.

How sad the babies need antibodies. Feeding from both mother and father to grow strong. Yes otherwise they get week and die. Next time please add real meal worms in feeding the baby. That will help because formula by itself is not enough. I'm sorry how sad and disappointing that is

ضبعا كان يعاني من سوء تغدية وقلة طعام يحتاج الى طعام مغذي ومتنوع وفواكة وكمية من الديدان واستخدام قطلرة او ملعقة مناسبة بدل من اعواد الاذن

You should let the mum feed the babies just give her half egg evry day .the babies will grow fast .and they will be healthier. U just to put the cage in a warm place

Normally you don’t have to hand feed if the canary parents are left with the chicks. It’s a lot of work hand feeding.

Whatever you're feeding them it's not nutrient dense enough for them. They can barely support themselves or balance on their legs & arms which by day 5 they should have been farther along. That's way they snatch at the feeding bar because their starving even though your feeding them. Please find the correct food.

You should have cleaned there nest

Just to let you know its because of you he literally didn't grow up properly, you should leave him 😤 feeding by the parent and in sertain age you could give him the extra food from ur hand but never touch him in his first days that mad !!!!! And in particular i can see from the second week he couldn't stand up properly and his feet are open not to strong enough in week 3 , so learn from this experience 😉
