pets like to be involved with what their people are doing. my dog can have a full bowl of water and still try to drink my bathwater, have a full bowl of food and still beg for my food, etc. I'm sure they're taking care of him :)

Cats are horrible at hydrating themselves! They rely on their wet food for I believe 80% of their hydration. So, when a cat is only fed dry food or not enough wet food, they easily become dehydrated. It doesn’t matter how many water bowls you have, sometimes they just don’t drink enough. Chronic dehydration can lead to kidney disease, which is extremely common in older cats. Excessive drinking/urinating can be a symptom. This is also a symptom of diabetes. Diabetes is unfortunately becoming more and more common. I only have anecdotal evidence, but the majority of cats we see at my work are overweight and obese. There’s no way for us as viewers to determine why jack is drinking a lot. It could be that he’s catching up on hydration, or it could be a medical problem. We only watched less than 12 minutes of his life. We don’t know what he does during the other 23 hours and 48 minutes.

Cats like to drink away from their food source! Usually, they’d be eating small rodents and water near their food means contamination from rodent waste. So they’d drink water away from where they get food.

cats like to drink water away from their food, usually in the wild their food would be rodents and eating where their water is- it might be contaminated with rodent waste. so, they like water away from their food. Normally people put water and food bowls next to eachother.

I'm sort of surprised they don't have it so the eyes are revealed with heat so you can make them asleep again. I think they are pretty cute with their eyes shut.
