Never had that but I had the dental assistant behind the chair with her arms up through my pits and over my shoulders holding me into the chair while the dentist yanked for all his worth to pull four impacted wisdom teeth.

No thats not gen x...thats a millenial...gen x dont talk at all...

Lol...so true on the advising the dentist on toothpaste. I've informed my own doctors/dentists of recalls and studies and "informed" them.

Gen x here. I hate going to the dentist, had a tooth that was hurting me, wife was like you have to go you have to go. i was like, no i don't no i don't. 5 minutes later i pulled the tooth out and handed it to her told her to enjoy her trip to the dentist.

"Oh no I dont use that toothpaste. I saw an article on Facebook about it, I will send it to you, you will learn a lot."- 😂😂😂😂

Truth! (GenXer with boomer parents). I do use the recommended toothpaste though (I can get it at Costco 😅), but am thinking of switching to tablets for the environment...do they come in sensitivity formula? I had a recent mouth pain episode (tooth, jaw). Went to the dentist - didn't find any obvious tooth issue, seemed to stem from tmj. Pain was super bad - I searched KZread myself for answers and things to try for relief. Found your channel and some other very interesting ones. There was one from a chiropractor that had 6 videos of how to massage around the jaw - made for his clients to do every day, but extremely helpful for me in that moment. When I went back for a follow up with the dentist a week later, I told him all about the helpful videos that had finally eased my pain. All he kept saying was to be careful what Dr. Google (Dr. KZread) has to say... He said it so much that when he said the name of the specialist he wants me to see next, Dr...., I thought it was another website for a moment! 😂 oh well...

I haven't gone to the dentist since i was 6. Im 22 now, but i still take care of my teeth with only some teeth being crooked. The only reason i never went back was because the dentists laughed at me and made fun of me for crying when they started working on my teeth, not even 3 minutes after the shots. Shit hurt like hell. I still remember one of the dentists saying, "Look at the little girl crying." (im a guy). I try to encourage myself to go, but it's rough when the memory replays in your head

I’m a boomer and my parents took me to the dentist for the first time when I was 12. Mom got sort of pushed into getting my cavities filled. Novocaine didn’t work so I always assumed dental work was suppose to hurt this bad. Dad didn’t care. He told me to get all my teeth pulled as they were easier to care for then. I only go to the dentist when something hurts.

My great grandmother came back from the dentist whwre she had a tooth pulled without novacaine. From that day onward I quit getting it with the recent exception of a couple root canals. I've had molar crowns put in without novacaine and it's really not bad.

I'm 55 and I'm a proud gen-x and I grew up that you only go to the dentist under extreme circumstances beyond your control if not do the best you can and just pull your own teeth LOL now my grandparents now those were boomers where the dentist was unheard of it was either pliers or string pull your teeth out😅

I'm a young boomer and I went to the dentist twice a year.

Never went to the dentist or doctor, dad would stich me up

That's more like Gen X and Gen Y. Most sources agree 1946 to 1964 are the boomers, 1965 to 1980 is Gen X, 1981 to 1996 is Gen Y, and 1997 to 20012 is Gen Z. Beyond 2012 they are considering the use of A, B, & C.
