I was a big fan of baba Jide some years ago. There's no day I don't hook up to journalist hangout. Infact that was the only program I watch daily. Even if nepa takes light, I'll get the Gen running. Only for me to start seeing that they hardly give viewers the chance to speak their minds whenever they call in n they speak against tinubu. I studied the prog n discovered that baba Jide has never and will never see anything bad in tinubu's policies. I'm from Lagos state n the day I saw lagosians shouting ebinkpawa, ebinkpawa at the president's convoy and another scene where pple were struggling to get tubers of yam from a truck in Lagos that was when I knew we've entered one chance. Say the truth so that they will sit right. Rufai has in time past said good things about some tinubu's policies and that doesn't stop him frm speaking whenever he notices the bad one. Let's call a spade a spade.

More to this narrative, Babajide is not the only journalist surporting this visionless and corrupt government, his former principals in the defunct The News magazine are the official spokesmen of Tinubu's government. You can see the direction. The two pronouncement made by Tinubu can only be done in a clan not a democratic country and we have all witnessed the results (run away inflation, poverty increase, lost of jobs etc). The truth is fuel subsidy is back and the Naira is not floated (anyway no currency can be floated).

The problem is you guys don't understand politicians. Rufai knew their tricks and he's not fallen for it. Babajide said, they are "helping" us. The President met the rate at 650, his policies took it 1900, his other policies brought it back to 1100. Babajide wants us to celebrate that. Trust me, it's a strategy. That 1100 was their target initially. But, for Govt to look like a savior to the likes of Babajide and you, they always use that strategy. They've used it for fuel prices before. You can apply the simple psychological trick in business too. If you want to increase your product price of 400 naira to 500 naira, increase it to 700. When customers talk, shout, and complain, bring it to 500. The customers would think they have voices and you've helped them.
