I'm certain most people in the west, if they're at all familiar with "Baba Yaga", it's as "the bogey man" John Wick. Me, as a child, I had access to my grandmother's set of Junior Classics, which is now over a hundred years old...ten volumes of stories, fairy tales, poems, etc. from all over the world. So, of course there was at least one story about Baba Yaga in there....and I collect fairy tales. So, when the Ukrainians named their wonderful vicious drone after her, I was more than a little amused. She even pops up in one of the Fafhrd and the Grey Mouser stories, if you read sword and sorcery fantasy. I sure would like to own one....

What you say is correct. But you seem to be allocating the blame to both sides. We all know how to achieve what you say you want. It’s easy. Russians leave Ukrainian territory and it’s solved. And given that you don’t point to this obvious reality, your last sentence comes across a teensy bit like a threat.

According to some legends, Baba Yaga wasn't always the evil crone; if approached with respect, she could be benevolent. Clearly Ukraine made the right approach to her, and she put her magic into those drones. 😉 (Remembering also the elderly woman who challenged Russians soldiers and told them, "Put these seeds in your pockets, that sunflowers will grow above your graves!" Someone posted on Twitter, "Found Baba Yaga?" We are left to wonder...)

Rembered a time ago when TVP had unblurred corpses showing. Miss those times. I am gruesome.
