Sounds so much better with the resonators still installed. All you hear is raspy garbage once you remove resonators. When you remove the resonators on any vehicle all a real car guy hears is, "Yep, sounds like some teenager's Walmart rice-mobile."

Thanks for the video. Running just the ecs x-pipe now and they’re too raspy for my taste. Glad i saw this 🙏🏼

is the ecs xpipe the one with the resonator delete? Also do you feel any difference with throttle response with no back pressure?

I don't have drive by videos but this guy does, with the same setup: kzread.info/dash/bejne/lYl11rtsabKoYLQ.html The magnaflow piping is 2.25" ID, our stock exhaust is a little under 2.25" OD so it slips right in with a little room to play.

Hey, it's been a long time since you've posted this but I bought the same exact setup and requested the same exact resonators to be deleted and replaced by the respective xpipes. I was told that the magnaflow xpipe didn't fit where the baby resonators were supposed to go. Did your shop do anything special to make it fit?

I installed it myself. I used 2.5" to 2.25" exhaust clamps. They're right that it's not an exact fit it's a little loose, but the 11385 slides over the stock pipes with a little play and you can get it welded in without issues, that's what most people do. Actually I'm going to take my clamps out and weld mine in, clamps are hard to stop leaking. Sounds like your exhaust shop just doesn't want to try it.

Do you like the sound or did you think it was better with just the x pipe? I kind of like just the x pipe.

The x pipe sounds good just reving but i find it’s too raspy when driving under load, the magnaflow removed most of the raspiness. I wish it was a tiny bit louder with the magnaflow added, but i find it sounds better and smoother.

I just installed the magnaflow today and the raspiness from the ecs x-pipe went away. The OP is right, i like how it sounds smoother now but i feel like it quieter than when i had just the x-pipe. Lol i wonder what’s next

I’m a little confused - you’re running a Magnaflow 11385, which is a resonated x-pipe, and then you’ve got that running back to the ECS non-resonated x-pipe? So you’re running 2 x-pipes? What’s the advantage there?

Did you get the ECS x-pipe directly from ECS, or through another supplier? Shipping is a joke...

I got it second hand. I know shipping from ECS to Canada is ridiculous. I've got a mailbox in Calais, Maine and live a couple hours from there in New-Brunswick so I can bring stuff across the border myself and save on shipping.

Yeah the ECS pipe is wider than the 11385. I cut some wedges out of wood and hammered them between the 2 pipes to spread them out. Look at the picture at 2:00 in the video

D28 D28 lol yes 11385 is wider , I need sleep. Even with the wedges it took some force with a heavy hammer. Worked good though. I suggest getting them welded after. I had leaks with the clamps so i welded it all.

I think can be sound aggressive with X-pipe and muffler delete

I'm going to run 2x 2 1/4 inch dual- 2 1/2 single y pipes, with a vibrant ultra quiet resonator, replacing the oem mid resonator, and creating an x pipe with the resonator essentially. I'll need to fab up 1 short 2 1/2 s pipe with the bender. The smaller overall volume of a single 2 1/2 pipe vs 2x 2 1/4 pipes should also mildly increase exhaust velocity, but not to an extent that it'll restrict. It may help with scavenging if anything. Also, ill have the resonator further back than the oem one, closer to the mufflers, meaning it'll be quieter/deeper, but also throatier due to the straight through design of the res vs the chamber design of the oem mid res. Total cost is $125, and I know the vibrant resonator is good because I've had em on all my cars
