The B25 Mitchell "Maid in the Shade" and the B17G Flying Fortress "Sentimental Journey" taking off and landing. Both airplanes are with the Arizona Commemorative Airforce. This was filmed at Peachtree Dekalb Airport (PDK) in Atlanta Georgia.
I film aircraft professionally but on this day I was just a Warbird fan shooting from the stands at PDK with my daughter. So please forgive all the screaming kids and talking over the mic. Usually I am on the tarmac close to the runway with no one around, no yelling kids, using a very high end fluid head tripod, and getting the silky smooth shots, without interruptions or interference. But today it's just dad and daughter having fun.
I filmed as best I could with kids crowding around, and laughing and cheering. Let them have their fun. A day at the airport is a good day. As my pilot friend, Gary Rower, taught me years ago, there is nothing like the smell of aviation fuel and the sound of aircraft engines to get your heart racing. He's absolutely right.
