To be honest, the main reason why cashless system is so popular in China is due to the fact that there’s a huge counterfeit currency problem there. The cashless system helps address their distrust for real currency unlike the developed world where the problem of counterfeit currency is not as rampant and people feel comfortable using both cashless system or cash. In China, their so called cashless system is hard for tourists to access and not only is their cashless system very time consuming for tourists, the shops are also inflexible to tourists who wishes to pay cash at times. Therefore, the experience of payment there in China leaves many tourists bitter in the mouth.

Its not just counterfeit, there's also money laundering issue and lastly corruption. Hence with a cashless society, its easy to trace such crimes.

@@wf645 I agree but that’s recent years when the government became determined to trace the cash flow and money laundering problems. Before that, they were still growing and counterfeit currency was the major problem back then.
Begging is illegal in Singapore. By giving money to beggars, you are encouraging the habit of begging. If a person is able, he should consider working, not begging as an easy way out.

Congratulations. 😀❤ Your mentality is at a higher notch than Communist thoughts. Welcome to Spore and continue to grow.
Main land Chinese are not the same with over sea Chinese. We're completely different from thinking to life style.
