08 January, 2024 - In the presence of UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, the UAE has announced its participation in developing a module on Nasa’s Lunar Gateway Station alongside the USA, Japan, Canada and the
European Union, in addition to sending the first Emirati astronaut into lunar orbit as part of the project.
The nation’s contribution in the development of the Crew and Science Airlock module on the Lunar Gateway Station, aims to strengthen its global presence in the fields of space science and technology.

بحضور صاحب السمو الشيخ محمد بن زايد آل نهيان رئيس الدولة "حفظه الله" وصاحب السمو الشيخ محمد بن راشد آل مكتوم نائب رئيس الدولة رئيس مجلس الوزراء حاكم دبي "رعاه الله".. أعلنت دولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة انضمامها إلى مشروع تطوير وإنشاء محطة الفضاء القمرية “Gateway” إلى جانب الولايات المتحدة الأميركية واليابان وكندا والاتحاد الأوروبي، إضافة إلى إعلانها إرسال أول رائد فضاء إماراتي وعربي إلى مدار القمر.
وتحقق دولة الإمارات عبر مشاركتها في تطوير وحدة معادلة الضغط، قفزة نوعية جديدة ضمن الاستراتيجية الهادفة إلى ترسيخ الحضور الإماراتي الفاعل والمؤثر عالمياً في جميع مجالات علوم الفضاء وتقنياته.
