If suppressors weren’t NFA items, the demand would be even higher than it already is, new manufacturing methods would drive costs down to the point suppressors would cost $100-$200 if not less. Suppressors need to be removed from the NFA. Actually the entire NFA needs to be abolished because it is unconstitutional but that’s a whole other conversation.

I’d like to see Mar-M or Inconel or Monel used. These metals are used in exhaust housings in jet turbines along with inside rocket parts specifically the combustion and post combustion chambers.

The chinese "oil filters" that may or may not be ATF traps are $50. Those would be simple consumables. Anything above would be a premium can.

Use with an A2 is HUGE. More companies need to take that step. If I could leave an A2 on every rifle, I have instead of needing a proprietary mounting surface depending on the suppressor I wanted to use, that’s exactly what I would do.

B&T's Rotex cans have had the A2 mount option for a while. It's pretty slick if you have a lot of firearms you want to swap the can between.

There are a couple of issues with that. Crush washers and A2s aren't necessarily going to have perfect coalignment nor necessarily be a sturdy enough mounting solution to keep the suppressor firmly affixed to the rifle. While it *can* be a sufficient solution, you do have to design the suppressor around the potential issues A2's may present, which likely means making sacrifices somewhere along the line compared to just designing it to work with a muzzle device you can guarantee is properly machined and firmly mounted.

@@KeterMalkuth You don't use crush washers to mount A2 flash hiders acting as suppressor mounts, you use shims just like any other suppressor mount.

@@Echo_Charlie That isn't really what Keter is talking about. He is referring to people who will think they can use this on their pre-installed A2 when the armorer didn't know it would later be used as a muzzle device for a can....so they used a crush washer.

I sure picked an interesting time to get into suppressors. My head is spinning with the innovation, tech, and science of it all which seems to be changing and evolving more quickly now than ever before. If anyone out there knows a good source that gives a nice overview of where this industry has been, where it is at and what to expect over the next few years... please point me to it.

I understood some of these words 🤷‍♂️ Speaking as just another dumbass civilian trapped behind enemy lines in Commiefornia, I really wish there was a "Everything To Know About Silencers in 2024" video. There appears to be some kind of Apple versus Android holy war going on with suppressor mounts? I see screw-on, three lug, that clicky-connect one... not sure what else? And obligatory "fuck the ATF." Why is it easier to get a silencer in England than in America? In Britain it's considered RUDE to not use a silencer when hunting!

Hi so yeah. I am not smort or nothing but each manufacturer has its own mount. I love my rearden stuff for cost and weight savings, (it is a simple taper mount with the threads behind the taper) and sure fire is another titan in the industry as well as keymo. But when they say hub it just means that the back of the can has 1.375x24 threads so you can adapt it to whatever you want to use. Meaning that my DD upper with a pinned and welded rearden flash hider can use a B&T can. Three lug is a mostly pistol caliber carbine thing, and the click connect I dunno. But back to the hub thing. IT is cool because I own aero, otter creek and dead air cans, but all of them are on rearden mounts. Another Apple vs android war that is currently going on is the flow through (Huxwurx and similar) VS traditional baffle stack cans and the host for them. Flow cans are less gas, but they light up like a spot light on thermal and IR vs traditional cans but traditional cans are generally speaking slightly quieter and also less likely to flash. I hope this helps!
