Most Eminem songs are with his own themes, lyrics, and rhythm. For Airplanes Pt. 2, he is given the theme of what his life would be like if he wasn’t a rapper. He has to write his own lyrics to the theme and with the same rhythm/tempo of the piano…..and he does it wonderfully. (It’s like a chef making a dish with random ingredients instead of his own selection.)

For me this song came out when I was in my mid 20's. I was working class poor. I was working 50-60 hour work weeks and just barely getting by. I remember I heard this song one day when I was landscaping a millionaires house. It was 90 degrees out and was just like how did I get here? Wishing to get out of the situation. Through perseverance I picked myself out of that situation and eventually started to do better. Fast forward 3 years and I was vacationing in Paris with some friends and this song came on the radio in the cab ride to our airbnb. I was like guys, 3 years ago when this song came out I could barely afford to eat and now I am vacationing in Paris. One of the highlights of my life to turn things around.

Marshall ended up at 2nd place and he lost the 500$ prize but because the guy liked his rapping, that guy asked for Marshall's mixtape and he gave one. This guy later sent it to someone who knows Dre. Dre was fascinated by Marshall's rapping so he spent days and days contacting and finding Marshall. After he found Marshall, he flew him out to his studio for businesses. The rest is history.

B.o.B.'s verses are good and nothing to snub your nose at, but Em's just *hits* you. It's hard to explain - but it feels like BoB's verses are just telling you a story; Eminem's is like he's putting words to *your* feelings/story. His flow & cadence, the way he raises his voice as the verse progresses, the use of more curse words - you can FEEL the frustration, anger, desperation that happens when you're trying to achieve your dream in his voice and hard delivery. Great stuff.

Damn, fuck me, it's 2023 and I forgot how motivational this song is.

Eminem’s verse in this, are the most motivating lines i’ve ever heard. Really makes you wanna put work into what you believe in when you’re feeling down and want to say ‘F*ck it!’

You tell when he hits the bar about friends it gets deeps

I’ve loved this song since a young boy, back then it was just a catchy tune. Now as a 21 y/o I know the meaning of Eminem’s verse. What if he never picked up a pen? What if he just made excuses? What if he just gave up? I find motivation in my own life with his verse. Those days when you don’t feel like getting up are the days when you NEED to get up and show up. What if you could live your dream if you picked up the pen?

Thank you for commenting bro and it gives me chills when I head his verse, I’ve struggled in my life hard to find motivation to pursue my dreams and not just settle for what life has thrown at me. Eminem took his own life in his hands, he didn’t wait for chance to happen. He took control of his life, and if he just settled for how he grew up he may have never lived the life he’s living. It’s a beautiful message

i put my headphones in & close my eyes, press my hands against the headphones and just get in the zone when his part comes on. I realized that verse is the ONLY verse that really hits me hard that i actually want to do that. It’s my a coping skill. So when i need a moment to remember who the hell I Am I listen to this

Thank you for your post. I suddenly woke up blind about a year ago and I regularly wallow in depression and don't do shit. I often just lay around in my bed and listen to shit online, other than doing laundry and cooking supper (once I relearned how). Because of you, I'll get off my ass and clean something tomorrow.
