Alka, you're one of the best food reviewers I've come across. You speak of not dipping butter bread in tea to not spoil the tea's taste. And like I do when I can't finish all the food, you too were comfortable taking the balance home. It's superb eatery in very reasonable price and super quality of each n products. # 1 in Mava cake is B Merwan Grant Road n #2 is Kayani Bakery in Pune. Whenever you are making a video of Pune don't forget about Kayani Bakery which is also famous for its Mava cake n susberry cookies. Your all vedios are very good and informative about eateries. Best of luck.

There is a small shop in Grant Road known as Persian. They have the best Mawa Cake in Mumbai. They come in a very unusual shape of a glass. I think by afternoon they get over. There is a Bata shoes showroom opposite. It's a must try if you like good Mawa Cake

B. Merwans Mawa Cake is must try! Must mention about the vada Pav/ Bhaji Pav opposite B. Merwans. Actually right outside platform no. 4! The chutney is mind blowing! Must try!

Alka, you really choose a very good destination. In my life I have also gone to Grant Road Irani Restaurant many times. The Parsee food is always very delicious and pure as the Parsee community is. Try some time Dhanshak Bhaat and pudding oat Parsee Restaurant or Hotel. You will really enjoy their non veg items also. Jay Hind Vande Mataram.

had butter bread, keema, french toast, burji etc at nearby small joints and restaurants and had loved the taste everytime.. we used to visit early morning 4:30-5:30 am.. even that Irani restaurant at saat raasta, loved that a lot, specially the tea

Loved it, loved it, loved it. I previously used to conduct women security program across MAHARASHTRA, whenever I had to lecture at SOPHIA 's I used to go to B.MERWAN 's and used to have my breakfast and then I used to go to the west side and take a taxi. Same with KIRTI COLLEGE used to carry those VADAPAAVS home, at that time I used to stay at KALYAN.

In Pune also we have parsi cafe Irani style with plenty of butter in bun maska and bread slices. Egg omlettes are of cheese also tea is also good with all other things. It's Vahuman cafe at Dhole Patio road near Jehangir hospital

One important thing to note at B. Merwans is that they serve the Omelette without salt. So it's a put off when you take the first bite! You are supposed to sprinkle salt and pepper. So please politely request the waiter to add salt while making the Omelette! The half fry is excellent over here! Sunny side up I mean

Yes that's correct. Ideally you should visit before 10am if you want to taste any particular stuff as it is likely to be available that time otherwise you'll have to take a chance. I wanted to eat their khari and jam puff but it was already over by 11am

No...they have a very limited menu as shown in both parts 1 and 2 of B. Merwan & Co.

Why no one mentions about the plum cake at B. Merwans! The waiters over there call it kala cake!

@@explorewithalka No. It's always available. It's right there on the right side counter between the Pavs and the bunch of Mawa Cake! It's kept in the tray...sliced! The best part is, it's available in slices. Whenever you order tell the waiter...arre bhai 2 piece kala cake dena!

But the cleanliness and hygiene standards are Pretty poor in Such kind of restaurant, when I was growing up in my lovely city called Bombay back then hada whole bunch of um .

Sabhi Items available nahi Hai.

yesterday I visited this place. TBH, I found it below average. Just it is an old place waiting to die, nothing else.

I TEST MORE THEN 43 YEARS.

Obviously we can't. We either finish it (alongwith my team) or get it packed and take it home if it is more in qty

What wrong they are doing, is that they are serving their foods items in one time use plates/vessels which is against international/BMC rules. They can't use this because such usage is increasing environmental thrash and pollution. This has gone unnoticed by authorities that they are violating laws....😬

Quality very poor ,wrong review,went after seeing your review 2 place and big let down,mawa cakes were horrible .please give honest comments

I have been having their mawa cakes since childhood and we absolutely love them. You can also go through the comments from other viewers. Its a matter of individual choice. If I don't like a dish, we edit it out from the video or give it a low rating.
