So sweet a story!!

This is the song for my son. I was sixteen when I got pregnant with him. We did alot of growing up together. He will be 23 this year and I couldn't be more proud of him. He's my best friend. Hes my rock. Mama loves you Zachary.

I wept when I first heard this song. That was yesterday, that’s 1-27-23. How could I have missed it. Truly humbling song. Awesome 🇺🇸

I was 21 w/ my first child, but being married to a rock muscian, life was a little different.... this song meant a lot to me

I LOVE coming across great songs from the 70's. Almost everything on the radio was cool and mellow even the rock. With the exception of a song called Chickaboom, all the songs were great.

I have not heard this song in years but for some reason it popped in my head tonight. It is a beautiful song.

Songs to sing to your child. In 1988, I became a single dad to a two year old girl. She'd beg for a song at bedtime every night. This was her favorite. She's twenty seven now and still smiles with tears in her eyes when she hears this song.

Out of a ton of great Mann & Weil songs, this is my favorite.

I got hooked on this song after 2 or 3 times! About the best lullaby I’ve ever heard!

Everytime I hear this song I am brought to tears. Although my mother was not sixteen when I came to be. She had five children and one miscarriage by the time she was 21. By the time she was 23 she was all alone raising us children. We were dirt poor but did not know it. My mother went to beauty school and learned how to cut hair so that she could provide for us. All of the stress from working too hard and raising five children on her own took its toll on her mind and her body. Eventually her body began to break down but she always had our happiness in the front of her mind. She would always sing to us children even when things were terribly bad and made up games for us to keep us happy. My mother always believed in god and always made sure that god was part of our lives and so many times it was her faith alone that got us through. When she had nothing to give but love or just a kind word it was what she did. I thank god for her and wish that I could have told her so before she passed last month. But im sure she knows. So this song is an exact reminder of my childhood. I listen to it regularly and can not do so with out shedding some tears. I love you mom and dedicate this song to you...

I played the song and heard the lyrics.....I believe It was my mothers way of reaching out to comfort me from the other side. Even though my worst fears were realized I know that everything will be alright. 😊

Why am I crying?.. So many memories of loneliness and despair, a young man far away from everything he once knew, this song touched my soul. It still does, many years after..

This is 1 of my Mother's favorite songs by BJ Thomas, of course he WAS her favorite because she had A LOT of his albums, cd's, cassettes, and 8-tracks. As I was brought up being a Country Boy, and a Gentleman, he became one of my favorites as well. I miss them both, RIP Momma and BJ, we love you both very much.

This song is for my oldest son. I was 16 when I got pregnant and 17 when he was born. He's my rock. He's 23 today.

I, too, met BJ Thomas at a concert and he was so gracious and so awesome! Can't wait til I have another opportunity to attend another of his concerts. This song is one of my favourites along with a few others that he sings. What a talent!

I had my first child at 20, got married at 16. My son was born in late '71 and we were waiting for the birth for our divorce to be final. My husband had tried to claim our child wasn't his. I called my husband from the hospital & asked him to come and have a paternity test. He said it didn't matter; he didn't WANT a child. So I said... okay. I used to sing along with this record- it always had special meaning to me. I also sang it sometimes at night to my son. I hadn't thought about this song in years.😘

I'm so sorry for your loss.... I love music and I bought this 45 when I was little. My parents planned for me and my younger brother. Over the years I listened more closely and appreciated the hardships of others and still listen now. I'm a single (never married) mother of a 15 year old son and we still enjoy this song!! Nothin heals my soul like the sound of a good old rock n roll lullaby

I know some women in Franklin, Pennsylvania that had babies while they were still in high school. My heart went out to them when they had to drop out of school to raise their child. I told them about this song and they learned the words and sang it to their baby when they got fussy. The lyrics *And I just knew lots of love came through in that Rock n Roll Lullabye* really struck a chord with them and with me too. Their children are now grown, and doing very well.

I used to sing this song to my babies almost 40 years ago, only lullaby I knew. My daughter's gone now, and every time I hear this song I cry.

I first heard this in 1971 while I was Basic Training. It always takes me back to those days.

This song moves me to the point of breaking down, not specifying anything but it does remind of my mom, she was real young when I came to be and she brought me up on her own, we went through hell and back, but I made it, all thanks to her fortitude.

This song kept me from being a teenage mom. I saw B.J. Thomas in concert at Curtis Hixon Convention Center in Tampa, FL when i was a teenager. I was sitting 3rd row, center stage and I would swear he looked directly a few times at me as he sang. ....SWOON!!! hahaha
