B&G Sprayer Extenda-Ban Wand Disassembly

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

So I am a homeowner, but live by one rule; buy "one good one". back in the day I had purchased at least five home depot cheap sprayers that have broken, so many years ago I invested in this sprayer, which has worked flawlessly- until today. The tip started to leak- and I mean leak when the sprayer was pumped up even if I did not press the trigger. B&G has great parts diagrams out there- but there was not a single video that I could find that showed someone actually taking the whole wand apart. Yes, there were vids of people replacing the small viton gasket, or the strainer, but I wanted to see how to take the whole thing apart. So I made a video of doing just that- unfortunately it was not planned so the audio had to be done via voiceover. Hopefully this helps someone because the lock washer, packing nut, handle etc is a bit tricky.
Enjoy

Thanks for taking the time to comment. The sprayer can be completely rebuilt, and the online manual/pasts list is so awesome. Unfortunately, for the life of me I couldn’t find a video or diagram explaining how to remove that nylon anti drip wire. All I knew is the sprayer was dripping from the tip, and I had the parts diagram. With six of em, I’m sure you could take em apart and put them back together in your sleep, but thanks for watching and the nice words. I’ll definitely watch if you do one on skid sprayers!

Again, thanks it helps to have a different view on how to disassemble it.

Thanks for the video I recently purchased a brand new B&G from local supplier...within 8 months the screw fell out from handle, wand cracked in several places replaced it...then main cylinder cracked that pressurize the tank...so I called supplier they did replace cylinder for free but as of lately I was told there have been several complaints on quality/durability has went down...I would definitely not purchase another one anytime soon...I have an older B&G that I use also that has never had any major issues except for replacing gasket and seals....your video was very helpful though in replacing wand...also in Brooksville FL Airfog sprayers will replace B&G parts with better quality stuff and also sale there versions of B&G sprayers in my opinion are way more high quality and durable

Thanks for showing the mesh strainer at the end. I bought a used 1 gallon B&G that was sold for parts. I went through the entire thing. Even the pick up tube in the tank was clogged. I heated, used solvents etc to try to get that strainer out. The sprayer worked but had low pressure and I eventually had to use pliers to remove the strainer in pieces. I wondered if it was put in correctly and your video confirmed that it was. Without the strainer, it sprays like a new one. Now, I will replace that part and have me a very nice sprayer for 42 bucks. The handle could not move the cable at all when I received it. Corrosion from sitting with chemical inside I guess. I also like to take the spray tip off when finished rinsing have the pump off tank and invert the tank over my head to let the hose drain after cleaning. You do have to squeeze the handle to let it drain. The less water etc in the line, the better in my opinion.

@@deadmau56661 it’s probably not the wire. Mine was a little sticky at some point also. Pulled the trigger all the way and squirted a little wd40 on the wire part that goes back into the trigger area and that seemed to fix it. That happens periodically. I would squirt Ed 40 into both the very front and very back wire areas. I would start with looking at time stamp 14:44. So squeeze the trigger like I did at that timestamp and hold it in. Then squirt some wd40 on THe Half an inch of wire you see at 14:44. Good luck

Maybe send a photo to the company and they will replace under warranty. You never know. Especially if it wasn’t left somewhere it could have frozen cause you know that’s what they will say if you don’t tell them it didn’t freeze first. If it was me I would remove the sprayer, take it apart enough to make sure there was no liquid inside and then use some of the original JB WELD grey epoxy over the split. That stuff is great and will seal it up. . You can probably use some painters tape down the sides of the split to make it look nice- just peel it off right after you put the epoxy on (while it’s still wet). . Even if you buy another I’d probably try the epoxy and keep it as a spare. Good luck and thanks for commenting.

I'm sure it's the entire thing. Here you go. Just screws in diypestcontrol.com/bg-120-valve-9-extension-extenda-ban-multi-jet-tip I'm sure you could also rig something up but you would have to buy a 9-inch tube along with the nine inch white nylon cable.
