On this channel we like to do a lot of dogfighting most videos are some sort of dogfight between 2 different aircraft as we explore their different capabilities. From time to time I like to dabble in Virtual Reality, I think VR is a great new technology and I love to show that stuff off for the channel from time to time.
If you enjoy war thunder or Microsoft flight simulator 2020 or even dogfighting in Battlefield 2042, consider getting yourself into Digital Combat Simulator by Eagle Dynamics, the Combat side of Aviation with the BVR and Dogfights really provides a different and interesting perspective on aviation. You can fly all kinds of combat aircraft including the F-16, F-15, F-14, JF-17, Su-27, Mig-29, Mirage and the F-18 Hornet along with many other aircraft and helicopters like the Ka-50 and Mi-8.

Currently it is almost impossible to identify a target off of passive signatures (IR, TV, Radio, etc) alone and you'd need an active radar signature to confirm at those distances. The only reason why Submarines can do passive sonar detection is because every surface craft's engine makes enough noise to be detected passively, and only use active sonar in desperate situations where their position is already compromised and they don't need to worry about their Sonar being received

Hey GS. Just wanted to thank you for all the content that you've put up over the years. Modern air combat was always very abstract and opaque to me. All I knew was that you shot a missile at someone and hoped they didn't shoot at you, and that was that. But since I've become a subscriber, I've learned an incredible amount from you. BVR, BFM, one circle, two circle, notching, cranking, going cold, reengaging, bandits hot/cold/flanking, the value of being high and fast, the MAR, jamming the WEZ, how you use the EWR... It goes on and on. This is all stuff that I learned from you and you alone, and have been extremely entertained in the process. And for that I just wanted to give a more tangible thanks. Of course I'll continue being a subscriber and continue watching, and will continue to learn. And I'm really enjoying how your mixing more BVR scenarios into your usual 1-on-1 matchups. Lots to learn from both of those. So thanks again. This has been one of THE most entertaining and educational KZread channels that I'm subscribed to. Keep up the great work!

@@rickyal9810 considering this scenario seems very Taiwan related, or at best, Philippines related, I assume it can only escalate from here? Either way, Bob's not making that meeting. He could maybe text, "Sorry, boss, I watched WW3 start off the wing of my plane" because 45 minutes, later the EMP from the inbound tactical nuke to that island knocked out his flight systems and he impacted the ocean at 500 mph. Some of these scenarios seem pretty cut and dry, especially the middle east ones, but you start shooting at Russian or Chinese assets and the more one-sided the engagement, the more likely they are to pop off? If it's Taiwan, it's escalating to nukes in minutes. Philippines, the communist party officials probably won't want to die trying to take their islands. That's my take on it, anyway.

I think that the two Flankers that you nabbed were escorting a chinese airliner, so they actually had reason to be there. Very cool video as always!

A good way to reprogram your brain concerning "decimate" is just replacing it with devastate. Sounds similar, and 99 times out of 100 it will be the better option. Decimate is just super niche as a word.

they're overpowered. Ships should at least be defending with CWIS which is optically guided. last i checked the LRASM isn't physically invisible.

  • @gerrycrisostomo6571

@@hughmungus2760 The CIWS is not optically guided. Do you see the R2D2 shaped radome on top of the gun? It houses the microwave or K-band radar that actually detects the incoming missiles and automatically guides the gun to point at that target. At first I thought it contained the ammunition for the gun, but the actual ammunition drum is located directly underneath the gun. So if the missile has stealth features, then it is a great threat to the ship because the missile can remain invisible until it's too late to defend from it.
