B-2 Spirit Stealth Bomber in Action

Ғылым және технология

This is how a $2.1 billion B-2 Spirit goes on a bombing run and just how much these bombs cost.
The B-2 Spirit’s unique shape, and the classified composite materials and coatings it is manufactured with, allows it to evade enemy radar and air defense systems to deliver its pricey payload on high-value targets.
That payload can include the Mark 82 500-pound unguided bomb which cost $4,000 apiece, CBU-87 cluster bombs which cost around $14,000, GPS-guided JDAM munitions that come in at $12,000 apiece, GBU-28 “bunker busters” which are slightly more expensive at $145,000 each, the JSOW glide bombs which can cost as much as $720,000, and the JASSM air-launched cruise missile, each of which will run you $800,000. It can also deliver the B83 and B61 nuclear bombs which are nearly $5,000,000 each!
