B 17 Flying Fortress wreck found on an Alpine glacier
Finally found the wreckage of the plane that crashed on the glacier. Hike to the Taschachferner Pitztal Austria to the crash site of the American B-17 bomber, which crashed there on October 23, 1944.

The 483rd Bomb Group, 840th Bomb Squadron, 15th USAAF, launched from Steraparone Airport in southern Italy, flew an attack on the Skoda ammunition factory in Pilsen, Czechoslovakia.
Hit by anti-aircraft fire, pilot Howard Dallman attempted to reach neutral Switzerland. The crew of nine parachuted over Sölden in the Ötztal and became prisoners of war. The plane crashed at Taschachferner.
