Benguerra Island is part of the Bazaruto Archipelago, just off the Mozambican mainland. We stayed at Azura Benguerra Lodge. The setting was perfect, the service was exceptional, the food was delicious, and it catered to everyone's tastes and preferences. We even had our own butler!!

Lazing on your daybed and watching the ocean at sunset, a sundowner in hand, listening to the soft waves breaking on the sand...bliss!
Activities are endless and exotic: snorkeling and diving at Two Mile Reef, Santa Carolina Island, or Margarugue Island; island hopping by speed boat or catamaran; seeing dolphins, sharks, and even the rare dugong; prolific birdlife on and around the island - even flamingos; private picnics on deserted beaches; long, very long walks on tropical beaches that stretch all around the island; horse riding; swimming in calm, turquoise waters; exploring the ocean floor at low tide; deepsea fishing; pampering massages at the Azura Benguerra Spa; cocktail bar and more...! There is even a swing in the ocean!
From the mainland to Benguerra Island, one can choose a speed boat ride or a helicopter ride. We did both to experience as much as we could. Look out for Azura Benguerra Island Part 3 to fly with us over the multi-colored ocean.
