I'm pretty sure I'm going to die. Burned 4 pulls, got all the build only girls. Unzen was my 1st pull of the lot. Japan hates the number 4 because it's got death superstition written all over it. If I turn up in a news article somewhere, pour one out for me.

Pretty sure every data mine is an all-nighter. However, if possible I will take a nap the day before leading into the .apk file release (if possible).

The shield and speed buff after she reloads sounds like something for manual against bosses. Because when you get those reloads that's when you'll want to dive in to line up your torpedoes on a target. So that speed will help get you there faster and the shield will help you tank some of those extra bullets that'll hit you.

Glad I’m not only one who thought of this this is pretty much good for manual player and since I’m mostly manual player my self I think is pretty useful for that.

The moment I heard that they're gonna release IJN Asanagi, I already knew who her artist is gonna be. And for good reason; as there is only ever one correct answer on who it should be. Truly a cultured company, sasuga Yostar.

I'm glad I maxed all the Rares and Commons to 100 at least. Retrofitting Nachi was like opening a Christmas gift. I felt so excited and when it was all done, I immediately made a IJN fleet with her in mind and headed towards an Op-Si stage 4 to celebrate. She did great and even got 3 MVPs on mobs. I didn't let her fight the Bosses because this was just a test run but she perfomed well. I hope you all enjoy your Nachis too just like me. Now time to do some night battles with her. Peace out and have a great time during this event fellow SKKs. I really hope everyone gets the newest ships of this event so best of luck on all your pulls. ❤

I know shes old but for newer players, Saint Louis is a CA that wants an HE gun for her skill 1, that would also be buffed by Unzen. While leveling her she did often steal MVP away in my mob fleets so i can only imagine how much she could do if you built around stacking cruiser buffs.

What if you put the blue fast Tores on Unzen? Could she get a perma shield in Bulletin hell fights?

Man, I wish the skills on the Elites were on SR's as they are entirely wasted on an Elite frame. Every ship looks good. I don't think I'm ever gonna end up using any of them, as I don't really run IJN, but I definitely want all of them anyways as both SRs and Unzen feel like they can fit into generic comps fairly easily. I actually think that Unzen might be able to bring torpedos back to the forefront in mobbing with her double pre-load and double reload - just give her the fastest loading torps in the game and watch as she slaughters most waves by herself.

Can't wait for the event and the other Zao class ships in the future.

A bit silly but maybe Unzen has so much doubling up in her limit breaks because she's a duel wielder lols Thanks for the info as always. Yes, Yuudachi and Noshiro are probably good contenders. Jintsuu META does TRP too (for CAs and Torp Crit as well for others).

IJN is the last faction I would have assumed would get the first gacha UR heavy cruiser but here we are. Her gun sounds like it would be useful against Jintsuu Meta if I was even able to use a heavy cruiser against her in the first place -_-

Yeah. I have 1 heavy cruiser vs Jintsuu META for tanking and the other 2 are CLs for buffs to my Eagle Union CVs York2/Enty/Horn2 and their skills against light armor AND the HVAR rockets.

@@nephalos666 I'm using Plymouth to tank along with Aurora and Helena and then using Zwei along with YT2 and Enty. Though tanking isn't really a thing against this boss in my experience. Zwei black hole is perfect to guarantee YT and Enty hit. The only trouble is I don't have the max amount of reload tech and can only get 3 shots before the fight ends and to sync YT and Enty with Zwei I have to use some questionable plane comps but it's still my most successful comp so far. That said I have yet to break 1m damage against this boss and if I do I feel like it will be a miracle.

@@nephalos666 the closest I've gotten to a 1 shot is doing manual against Algerie Meta. I got her down to 9 bars I think once. But this fight is absurd. It's a guaranteed 2 fight basically unless I get global aid.

@@Nicolas_Cage_Bees I use Musashi, Zwei and Implacable(with 2x +13 Ryusei's) with Helena, Plymouth and Shima and easily break 1M. The comp you listed is decent, but in 2023 is horribly underperforming in harder content.

In other words, if I give Unzen's gun to Drake and Drake's to Unzen it will do them good? Well, since Unzen does not buff her own HE damage directly but rather any other fleet with an HE equipped CA while, Drake can benefit from using either Normal or HE gun.

it's best for light armor, drake's gun and hindenburg gun is better for medium and heavy armor.

I mean, Hinden might be better to use Unzen gun because of her cross-fleet buff on HE. But it really depends on the enemy armour mod tho

Her gun will be BiS on any CA/CB against light armor, which is 90% of the chapter bosses and most PvP fleets vangaurd. As far as how she compares, I havent used her yet, but looking at ALM's breakdown I dont think she will dethrone Hindy, Plymouth or Shima as top 3 best vanguard in the game, but I'll def be doing some testing once I finish getting her skills to lvl 10. I already have Unzen max LB and lvl 125 so just waiting on that

Unzen's eHP seems better than Hindenburg with the mg in the 3rd slot, remember that Unzen has a lot of luck so I don't think she's particularly squishy.

I think she's supposed to be based on the 1941 Type A Heavy Cruiser, which is basically an improved Ibuki design. Think of Zao from WoWs.

Have faith in the waifus & play and you shall be rewarded. I always go in with 150-200 cubes and maintain 100%, only misses I had was on first runs of Intrepid and Rossiya when I had more cubes than normal. Always felt like the game rewards playing and punishes hoarding.

People sleep on Yuudachi Crit/Crit dmg buff for just 30 seconds but that is still 2 + 2 Unzen Launches - and on personal level Yuudachi deals pretty amazing damage compared to Noshiro especially after adding UR IJN HE DD gun.

I don't think people are sleeping on Yuudachi. It's just hard to fight only 3 Vanguard ships with so many good torpedo ships these days.

20 pulls and I got Owari and Unzen. Safe to say I can now save my cubes more.

Been away for many months and missed 4 UR. Gotta make up for it

by all laws of cuteness I must have that cute new bean character obtainable at some point. She's too precious~ besides that, this event is great, why couldn't the french event have skills like this.

All of the new ships this event are definitely Waifu over Meta. Asanagi is just a simple 'Flat is Justice', Natori is 'Protect the Dragon Loli', Hatsuzuki is 'Medium is Premium', Owari is the 'Onee-san that teases you, but still loves you.', and Unzen is the 'Kuudere that learns to open up herself emotionally'.

Don't get disheartened if don't pull her right away, so long as you're playing AL's pretty liberal in making sure you have ways to get gacha currency (cubes) and I think the event's running for 3 weeks so extra time if you have to like jump back to clearing new campaign levels to get quick hits of cubes. I'm not sure I would say garbage stats for Asanagi. She has more Trp stat then many of the SR top tier DDs Sure not beating out a UR but for an Elite that's actually pretty good stat line. Only HP is really low

ALM isnt always the best for his interpetations. There's been ships he said he didnt see being good, ended up changing the meta and/or overachieving when the smoke cleared. Honestly, I respect his opinion, but I take ALM's assesment as just an opinion. Mainly use his channel to see if a ship/event is worth rolling on and a large reason I have almost 1k cubes built up. If the event doesnt have a ship thats better or looks to be betrer than one of the 12 I mainly use, I ignore the event.

I havent used a faction fleet in ages, but I will admit if you were to do one, IJN probably has the most going for it, esp with the combination of Shima+Noshiro+Unzen now existing. As per your question; Suzu was decent upon release, but really doesnt have a place in modern vanguards unless you dont have something better. Waka is really only relevant for Chapter 14-3 and 14-4 due to her ASW gimmick, outside that shes just better than average. Since youre keen on a faction fleet, do you have Noshiro, Yuudachi, Shima, Shimanto or Azuma? Those would all be better than Suzu and/or Waka. If not, then if not doing or farming 14-3 or 4 then I personally would swap Waka for Hatsuzuki.

Instead of Nagato retro we get another literal who retro for an anni event, really soured the event overall, also they totally butchered Asanagi's original art to make it more in line with the other ships, if you saw the original you can see it is criminal how they did Asanagi in.

Problem is she is torp dependant. Sometimes she will obliterate the whole screen, sometimes she will do less damage than anyone else in your fleet, I think her problem is gonna be consistency
