Germans say both Leipzich and Leipzig depending on where in Germany they're from with the. Same with Königsberg which some would pronounce Könichsberg. Technically, the "ch" is more correct but you'll heal both and I'm more partial to using the "g". People aren't even consistent with it.

its a variations since all of these are daughter languages eg mlp mlg and jesse science b*tch line meme, anyway for example central and upper german diffs are: pp, mp into pf and mpf eg apple but apfel. edit: one is gemination the other evolved into affricate like george or chip, lithuanian, icelandic, french, hittite, nativlang got french historic pronounciation changes.

Only big correction would be Prinz Eugen. Most germans dont even know this and simply in german the pronounciation was perfect, BUT the Eugen part was a historic dude from Italys name and had a special pronounciation. The emphasis in that name of the historical person was on the second E. It would be more like "EugEn" with the second e beeing emphasized, beeing pronounced long instead of short :) Also its Wilhem Heidkamp, not Heidekamp...but again that is something all of us would say that way because we just do it by intuition :D Just two very minor corrections to be perfect that most of us dont get correct (took me a google excursion to find the proper way to say Eugen myself after I got called out for my wrong german naming) PS: Also thank god for some perfect pronounciation of Gneisenau...every time I hear "NEISENAU" I get a heart attack :D

It‘s not even really a special pronunciation. That pronunciation is simply much more common in Austria which is where he used that name. Fun fact due to him being born in France and fighting in Italy a lot he actually commonly used three different names for himself. François-Eugène in French, Eugen Franz in German and Eugenio in Italian. In fact in his signature he used Eugenio von Savoy combining all three languages. (Also despite his last name and tendency to use Italian a lot he didn‘t actually spend a lot of his life in Italy)

The Last one Z-21 is spoken without the last e, it's Wilhelm Heidkamp, not Wilhelm Heidekamp. As for a little Historylession: Wilhelm Heidkamp served in the german heavy cruiser SMS Seydlitz during the Battle of the Doggerbank in 1915. As the ship was hit in the aft Turret he rushed inside the burning section of the ship to open the Flood valves suffering severe burns on his hands doing so. But due to his actions the Seydlitz was saved and more importantly the damage could be analysed, so that the Germans we're able to take action, that a hit in the Turret doesn't Put the while ship at risk of blowing up. A fate, that struck british Battlecruisers during the Battle of Jütland (Skagerrakschlacht) one year later...

I guess my German is still very British... at least I can say em with 76.34% accuracy or none if it's something like "Roon"...

Very good. Your only flaw is that you're stressing the letters K and Z a little too much. I know teachers tell people to do that but you can dial it down just a little bit and it'll be perfect.

this is a problem for me too since I got no native v thus my english v is stressed too much, this doesnt happen to my p and b since I got minimal pairs of this and it's native: puket (nameplace) and buket (bouquet), babi (swine) and papi. allophones from local langs since I forgot the dutch loanwords: lelet and lele/catfish ,(not native but diff e consecutively eugenol and preseden).

Schön gemacht, gute Aussprache, mein Respekt.

I need to replay this video multiple times so I can pronounce their names correctly.

Out of all of them, Roon is the most difficult to pronounce for me.

It's very hard to summon up the correct accent for it even for Germans, so you are alright! Roon is a Prussian name, and prussian accents have died out sadly.

I find practicing it with the sentence "Would you like to take out a loan?" But replace the L with R. so "Would you rike to take out a roan?" Gets me close enough. Although trying to properly roll the R still defeats me most of the time.

Ein kleiner Fehler ist drin, bei Prinz Eugen. Normalerweise wird das zweite E in Prinz Eugen lang ausgesprochen phonetisch ausgeschrieben also Eugeen

odd indeed. Using platzdeutsche does make sense for simplification of the matter, of course dialects and proununciations are all over the place for names. and accents vary, Roon comes off as a big thing, the Prussian accent is lost to time sadly so it is hard to know for that, but in Bayern it comes out as "Rouhn"
