I never would have thought of putting that blue 76 AA gun on her. Thank you very much for the tip there. I'll build the guided rainbow torpedo mount asap as well. She is my favourite ship girl so I want to make shine as best as possible and your advice has been invaluable.

Got Shimakaze a total of two times, first built at build #32 for me. RNG was very nice to me this event. Now I've got a destroyer that totally outpoints retrofit and SSR carriers. OP is an understatement, but it's hysterical to watch her wipe the seas with everyone standing in front of her. :P If she's ever put into the game, I do hope they do this kind of treatment for USS Johnston - damn the torpedoes!

you should consider 120mm has better range than 76mm, causing a DD in particular zipping back and forth to get in shooting range quicker. i recommend trying it and seeing which you consider the most reliable to trigger aoa. i havent compared them myself but was recommended the 120mm over the 76mm.

Well, I choose 76 mm for ayanami. But pick 120mm for shimakaze. Overall 76mm is better for manual and 120 is better for auto

My FDG is dev 26 but I'm excited for her video

I got SUPER lucky and got her on the 8th pull i beleive. She is very strong...but she seems to die very fast even with healers and the repair kit on. That being said, she never leaves my main fleet now :D

Building her.. can't wait to use her , I got a nice Mewofficer with double torp buff for her :)

you can give her a STAAG for the anti-air gun as well if you don't need to think about the AA

she’d be perfect for ex stage just put tanikaze for that extra 20% torp damage and ibuki for those extra torp meme damage everyone 2x rainbow torp

I was one of those jammy swines who got her in their first 10x pull and I hadn't played for a couple of weeks, RNGeesus blessed me that day.

I got Shimakaze on the first pull. Getting Chikuma was a lot more efforts (many many B3 runs). I earned enough points to clear most of the shop out.

Okay now hear me out: For torpedoes, I use her UR quintuple 610mm torpedo. In Auxillary, I then use the oxygen torpedo AND the SR 533 Magnetic Torpedo which gives extra +75 TRP +16 HIT and turns her first torpedo salvo into a magnetic one but with the 190 damage per torp value of the 610 Quintuple +5% extra damage on top of that. I then use her together with Jintsuu and Yuudachi in the Vanguard, accompanied by Nagato, Taihou and Shinano in the main fleet. This allows her to pretty much dish out 5x 12.000(!) damage with just torps against bosses like Souryuu Meta (lvl 15) right at the start of the fight rounding up to ~200k final damage per attempt just with her alone. Of couse this could be even more damage (like 250k+) if Yuudachi was exchanged for Noshiro for additional +20% TRP, and +12% Crit rate buffs if you really wanna go ham.

im just gonna ask your opinion what if i use that rainbow quint torps the i use 533 magnetic torpedo aux? i mean first torpedo wave is magnetic so will it be good or no?

The new rainbow torp mount does pretty fine on auto too.

I use a combination of Rainbow and Black torpedo for the aux slots.

with 2 torpedo aux, she is surviving just fine against meta max level. (dies at the last second of the battle most of the fight i tested with that)

I got every other ship, and multiple duplicates but didn't have enough cubes for pity at least, and tbh I decided to get Essex and Baltimore skins instead of more cubes

The single 120mm has more range and it's a bit more consistent on auto, but not for that much.

I personally prefer the Twin 114 from PR3 on her. The difference in reload doesn’t seem that impactful and, as you said, it helps dealing with shields.

I would say NJ shes more viable than Shimakaze is but go with who you like first

This UR pulls, can't say I'm lucky enough but i nearly reach 200 pulls to get her (170+ to be exact). After that for the sake of free drop at 200 pulls, i was continuing the pull and getting total 4 dupe + 1 free dupe. It's insane.

I didn't want to risk all my cubes just to end up without obtaining Shimakaze, so I just bought the rainbow torpedo and slapped it on Laffey😂, got Chikuma though and she's very nice. Btw why has no one done a guide for Dido? Is it because equipping her correctly is very straightforward? Or is she not good enough for higher worlds?

Have some hope. I have seen someone randomly pull a new jersey during the shimakaze event. Might be really low but they might be in the regular pool. Just a really slim chance.

I don't have those rainbow torps so I'm forced to use the 610 on auto or manual. Don't want to put gold ones on her.

not sure why you would recommend the Eagle Union repair when it's exclusively for Eagle

Yeah, just like what GrandHeretic mentioned, I just wanted to get the point across that any gear that provides HP would be good. The Eagle Union repair would definitely be better on actual Eagle Union ships.

I think AA gun that is just actually mistake - STAAG AA gun from PR that one with 10 hit is by far best - reloads very fast and provides 10hit and hit = more torp hits & more crits. Especially that Shima self buff ACC by 15% aswell and/or with Nagato it goes to 35%. Every torp boat that isn't gunboat aswell (and even then like Yuudachi/Kitakaze) wants this gun with 10 ACC. Also can confirm my Shima lives in Siren Strongholds and W13 13-4 just fine with 2x torp stick , just go full nuke setup.

I done like 70 or 80 pulls 2 Shima, 3 Umikaze, 3 Katsuragi, 0 Yura, and managed to Pull Choukai 3 times on D3 hopefully I spelt her name right

Destroyers don't really benefit much from equiping washing machines , it's Almost a waste to use one on a destroyer that already has over 200 evasion .. heavy cruisers on the other hand benefit greatly from washing machines cuz they have low evasion so 40 extra evasion stats from the washing machine translates into huge boost in evasion rate for them ... same goes for battleships or any other ship with low evasion !
