What main ships were used for the meta battle.

The reason that EU ships can't equip CL guns as their secondary is that the US in WWII kept a unified secondary battery of dual purpose 5"/38 guns, which were the same guns they used on their destroyers. While this decreased the ships firepower against other ships if they got too close or were too numerous to use their main battery on, it substantially increased the amount of AA that could be used to defend against air attack, which was much more common in WWII. It also meant that every 5" gun could do both at different times so they had more barrels doing both for less weight than the non-unified batteries of other nations. I realize you probably don't care about this, but there is a very good explanation for it, based on the history AL is inspired by.

It also saved them creating two caliburs of barrels and turrets when they could just make a crapload of 5" dual guns for wherever they could throw them on a ship.

The German AP gun from the gear lab is great on American battleships, it one-shots suicide bombers and also provides the 35 FP.

Check again, it doens't provide 35 FP, the german twin 128 provides only 30FP and 15AA, overall still a great gun for EU BBs but not the BiS if you are trying to stack to the max New Jersey FP.

Few? USS is the faction with the most amount of buffers, at the top of my head you have: Prince of Wales, Bunker Hill, Essex, Cleveland, Montpelier, Baltimore, Independence, Bataan, Fletcher & Saratoga/Lexington.

@@KaoruMzk Mostly EU ships are fleet buffers. Not Faction Focused with more utilities like on Nagato. Vittorio, Richi etc. NJ is like a lesser faction buffer.

her barrage also inflicts armor break which makes ur target take 5% more dmg that last 8 seconds and can stack with other armor break debuffs

I’m surprised you didn’t mention the German gear lab DD gun, it’s the best in slot Battleship auxiliary gun. It provides a lot of firepower and gives the best protection against suicide boats. The baguette gun got powercrept.

I wouldn't say best in slot, because it gives less firepower, and in later maps suicide boats are not a problem... so it's kinda 50/50

She is definitely one of my favourite ships and the amazing way she supports a farming vanguard from the sidelines is so helpful. Thank you very much for the info on setting her up.

Don't forget there is the 41cm Kai from the gear lab, it hits harder than both the standard 41cm and the FdG gun and higher rate of fire than the normal 41cm, only a bit slower than FdG gun. Many people overlook this gun, but then it only costs purple parts to make so it is still a good option.

I use the Twin 128mm/45 SK C/41 Dual-Purpose Gun Mount for NJ's Aux gun. It's one of the better ones against suicide boats.

FYI, Eldridge skill works well against Helena Meta lasers.

You didn't mention it in the video, but the rainbow twin 457mm from pr2 is easily the best AP gun in the game if you have one.

idk if this means anything, but.. if u equip a type 98 DFD + autoloader with jean bart's quad barrel, and cap her 2nd skill, u get comparable dmg as the UR triple barrel from 2 events ago + fire control / autoloader. in short, quad barrel damage with FR of triple barrel and better accuracy than double barrel, with equips that are accessible in the core shop, and not hard to obtain. may be worth using until players grind out better equips

I'm new to AL, if I want to make NJ focuses on her barrage procs it will be better using the AP guns due to its lower reload compared to her rainbow HE guns right? Or am I missed something?

A purple auto loader plus the gold reload aux are required for Helena, it let's jersey get off a last full final salvo, and I average about 215-250k damage from NJ laone Doing double gold black/white shells she only does 150-180k

In my opinion the best auxiliary gun for her (and all other EU BB/BC) is “Twin 128mm/45 SK C/41”. You generally want AP auxiliary guns to deal with suicide boats. As for AA guns… NEVER use “Twin 134mm AA (QF Mark I)” except for DD with Main Gun +1. This AA Gun have very slow fire rate which can affect entire fleet’s AA efficiency. “Twin 40mm Bofors STAAG” & “Twin 40mm Bofors Hazemeyer” recommended as BIS for Main Fleet ships not only because of + Accuracy, but also because those guns can act as accelerators.

High Standard Fire-Control Radar + White Shell is better for DPS than the old White/Black shell combo. The German Twin AP gun is the best DD aux for battleships. The French 138.6mm is better used on your Vanguard.

How come your Lvl.120 New Jersey has more health than my Lvl.125 NJ? Was she nerfed? I have a very similar build to yours, but some differences in the stats. HP: 9745 FP: 453 base AA: 438 base RLD: 172 EVA: 40

It's a little complicated because there are a lot of factors involved. Here are three answers - you can pick how far down the rabbit hole you want to go. 1: Use HE. While not always statistically the best in any given situation, HE ammo is never hard-countered and you get extra damage over time from burns. 2: DD guns, CL guns, and BB guns are best with HE against most enemies. CA guns have similar modifiers with HE and AP, so you can pick from either without drawbacks. Use AP guns on your CAs and BBs if you expect to fight a lot of ships with heavy armor. 3. Each class of gun has its own list of ammo damage modifiers against light, medium, and heavy armor. Within those lists, the nominal ammo types aren't always identical to each-other, either. When picking the optimal gun for a situation, go to the respective 'List of Guns' page on the Azur Lane Wiki and sort by DPS against whichever armor class you are trying to defeat, then pick the one with the most DPS that is available to you. Consider your ship's skills when choosing, as some ships have multiplicative bonuses with specific guns or ammo types that dramatically increase their DPS. The only exception is BB guns - battleships fire so infrequently that DPS is a somewhat misleading metric. Instead, consider base damage and ammo type. If the BB is dependent on a procced ability or barrage, consider trading damage for lower reload time to proc the effects more often.

play through operation siren. occasionally boss fleets and loot crates will give you data and once you have 100 data, you can analyze it to summon helena. you can only do this twice a day.

Uh? Tashkent gun is actual best in slot for against suicide boat because of firing pattern. you would know it if you use a lv 70 monitor for farming because it is the only gun that can defend itself without aux gun +1. French gun bullets are single line and HE being slow so it misses suicide boat a lot. 2nd best(or best because of aux gun +2) would be german twin DD from lab, fast travel bullet as AP and parallel firing for focus dmg.

I highly advise to not use golden roomba's on your main fleet ships at all. If you do not own a STAAG or Bofors Hazemeyer, it is better to use Quadruple Bofors. There are 3 main factors that apply to an excellent AA gun for main ships: accuracy, low reload, and moderate DPS.
