I would guess that's because osaka is just slow. It's not like she is dumb, but actually is slow. she might've known the majority of the test answers, but her slowness affects her. give her more time and she possibly could score a little higher.

Its easier to add detail on a short Also, the blankness might just be intentional, she is sooo slow

Basically a mashup of all 26 episodes, the Knucklehead squad, the Detachable Pig Tails, Sasaki and the Devilish Cat, Chiyo's Tongue twister, Kaorin Idolising, and Sleeping Osaka.

Yup, this is the OLD art style. Kiyohiko Azuma didn't become lazy or sloppy. He just became a minimalist. I prefer his new style. Plus, he has better sense of proportion now.

They graduated from high school in episode 26 and are well on their own separate paths. Season 2 would only be plausible with a new cast of girls (and maybe throw in a male main character or two so the series doesn't get accused of feminism), while maintaining the teachers as legacy characters.

This and Episode 8 of the anime series are just plain epic!

Even if this was a theatrical presentation, it’s still so weird seeing the characters with this much animation

That's not Osaka that's Ayumu Kasuga right there

This very short movie is really funny and has some very creative ideas, they should make a series about these characters and explore more of what was shown on these 5 minutes

I wish the series has that animation quality, although the anime has a charm because its low quality :P

I just started watching this series and I'm gonna be getting the deluxe version in manga form.

Can't say I agree with you. It just seems that the kind of "dreamy" animation (maybe a little rough around the edges) fits the storyline much better. The clean look of this short film was nice for a change, but I prefer the old way. Though I quite understand your opinion.

The bit with chiyo chan and her pig tails can easily be a horor story if you think about it

Sometimes i wish for a Remake of Azumanga in modern style because i want to see some absurd fluid animation just like in Nichijou, but i fear it would be disappointed since the old VA would probably can't perform the same old Azumanga like they're used to due to Aging, or putting some new Voice actor that would ruin the Character legacy.

I know it's just Osaka's dream, but I felt really really bad when Chiyo started crying lol

It would have been interesting if "The Island" from 'Glassworks' played in the background as Osaka told the story of Chiyo's Trek to Find her Pigtails.
