I’ve been following you two for a couple years now and love your energy and positive attitudes!! This video is by far my favorite!! My husband and I had the privilege of living in Tusayan for 4 years and we hiked in the Canyon many times. You are so on point in your feelings of awe! Nothing compares to actually being IN the canyon! The wonder of it lives on in me and will forever live on in your hearts!!

I've just recently discovered you and really enjoy watching you guys. I'm an older woman on the loose too and it somehow makes me feel better knowing you completely forget random things too! I love to hike but I'm not a backpacker; just got chills from your grand canyon experience. Keep up the good work!

Ladies, you are so inspirational. Well done! The Grand Canyon rim hike has now made it onto my bucket list. Amazing scenery. As a 63 year-old UK long distance walker who retires in 10 days time, I have a few adventures planned. Thanks to you, I'm heading off to Slovenia in June to hike the Juliana Trail - not quite the difficult mountainous climbs and via ferratta stuff you did, but even so. Keep on keeping on.

About 4 years ago in our early 60's my husband and I hiked down South Kaibab, spent the night at Phantom Ranch and came back up the Bright Angel trail. Of all the hiking we have done, it is still the highlight of my life.

Its amazing to see that North Rim trail is such good condition. I saw it took a real beating the past couple of seasons from rock and mud slides. Beautiful. It's been 7 years today since I completed my rim to rim. The canyon is spiritual and magical for the soul.

My mom’s dream had always been to take a mule ride down the canyon. When she and my dad retired, they plus my sister and I (in our 20s) took that trip down the south rim, spent the night at Phantom Ranch and rode back up the next day (still on the south rim). Your video was so lovely. It brought back good memories. The canyon seems more beautiful than ever. I am now in my 70’s and don’t think I could make the trip at this point, but you are so right - the view from the rim is nothing like the view from inside the canyon. Wishing you continued success in all your travels. Thank you for taking us along!

Would love more info on your itinerary and permits. You’ve inspired me! When we went to the Grand Canyon many years ago, I saw some older hikers getting ready to head down into the canyon and I told myself that I wanted to be able to accomplish that. Well now I’m 58 and I think it’s time. Thanks for sharing your adventures!

When my husband was still in college back in the late ’70’s, he spent a week in the Grand Canyon. They hiked down to camp by the river, then took different trails every day, finally hiking back out at nighttime on their last day. One of his most cherished memories. I love how your clothing changed so drastically from South rim to Phantom Ranch! Amazing the temperature difference with elevation loss. Congrats on your rim to rim!

Spectacular! And boy, did you luck out with weather! I’ve been concerned it would be HOT when you got there, but cool is a gift, for sure. We hiked rim to river last year (at the ripe ages of 73) and that hike was life changing. When you started down South Kaibab, I teared up both for the breathtaking beauty and with gratefulness we had that extraordinary opportunity. While it’s stunning from the rim, hiking INTO the Canyon is next level!! (And man, are you two are tough!). Thanks for a beautiful and inspiring video.

Walking along with you, on my treadmill - I hiked the S. Kaibab, camped at Phantom and back up Bright Angel in February in 1981 with 4 Aussies and 1 Kiwi. The ranch was closed - so no lemonade. It was a full moon, so we did a circle hike at night crossing the 2 bridges then back to the campground. I always wondered what it would be like to travel horizontally in the canyon and spend more time down there. Can you camp at Manzanita? I have not done the North Rim -- but I would like to drive/hike/cycle to it from the north. Thanks for the trek, Happy Trails.

Hi ladies, rim to rim hike! Congrats! You are right that it kicks butt. I hiked the canyon in the '90's on the Bright Angel trail to the bottom and back up (I've mentioned it before, so forgive my repeat). It is indeed an unforgettable experience and all the adjectives that you described, Kristy. You ladies are the epitome of adventure! How long did it take you to get to the bottom? It took us 6 hours down and 9 hours up. Kaibab is faster than the Bright Angel. Super good video!

Wow, what a great episode. Your best yet. Nothing touches the Grand Canyon. I remember when I hiked the South Rim to Phantom Ranch mid May many years ago. Temps at top of South Rim were mid 50s by the time hiked to Phantom Ranch temps were early 90s. Enjoy your videos and be safe. Camping at Indian Garden is also beautiful and Cottonwood campground. AZT is in my future. Do you both use: Thermarest pad AND a separate airbed or just the Thermarest pad for sleeping? I presume both for different reasons?
