There is always something about these MBY videos that makes me feel queasy. I don't know if it's the perspective , speed of movement or how close you get to things at times, but I constantly feel uneasy with being pressed up against everything. Other than that, great! :)

They also often appear rushed, the presenter almost out of breath or poorly researched before filming.

You guys really need to invest in wider angle video kit. Almost every frame is too close, to the point you often can't even see what it is you're referring to. Please make this change, you've received similar feedback time and time again on videos, it's not a big investment but at the moment these reviews are really let down by the camera work.

Nice boat, nice use of space in the cockpit and at the bow. ( Need more of those wine bottles or beer chillers like the ones in the cockpit though) The salon and cabins are nicely styled with some clever ideas. Like hiding away the fridge and oven. The power breakers under the leather work top. Curved corners so you don't hurt yourself. The helm station is stylish but very comprehensive everything you need. Small engine room but you can get to everything. All in all a nice boat that should do very well as a first boat.

You can tell by all of the small bits that not much attention to detail was put forth, when compared to a princess, fairline, or sunseeker.

  • @MrSpleenboy

Personally, if I had the money, I'd spec the boat for the "crew" cabin, if only for the toilet next to the swim platform. You could still use the bed area for storage, granted it would be less. Thoughts?

Those anti chafing strips are just a gimmick. To be of any use they need to wrap around the bodywork. You can actually see how they'd rub against the grp in the video.

A lot of the smart features on this boat are either gimmicks or terribly made and designed. I guess they had the right idea in mind...

Yes I agree. The crew cabin door seems kind of strange. Opening like that. But I have seen it on other yachts, like the Sunseeker 76 yacht. So I guess it works allright?

As long as there isn't a tender on the aft platform to stop the door opening; and the aft platform isn't in the lowered position so there is only a tiny shelf to walk or stand on to get to the doorway; and you don't ever need a rail or hand-hold to grab while on the transom; and you aren't carrying anything heavy or bulky while you step unsupported over the door, door sill and down a step into the cabin / locker; and there isn't any sort of following sea to swamp the cabin when the door is open; and you don't need a second form of egress should the fancy door / hinge get jammed; and you don't mind taking your crossed aft spring mooring lines off every time you open the door (assuming you can get them to clear the tender on the aft platform in the first place); then yes, I suppose it does work alright...

So in your honest opinion, which one do you think is better Hugo, the Azimut 53, the Navetta 52 Fly, the Fairline Squadron 50, or the Galeon 500 Fly with the side dropping decks and stools option? (Left out Sirena and Horizon as they don't offer a boat in that range and the Greenline 48, and also Sirena again were not in the same field. Sunseeker Manhattan 55 was also too nice.)

This is an owner operated vessel! Around 100k per year to dock run service and insurance! It's actually very reachable at the end of your life of working and living life on it! Sell your house and savings pick it up second hand in 4 years for 2 thirds of the price new and finish your life in peace and family great memories! When people see boats at this size they think millions to run it but it's actually not! Over 10 years it would cost 1 mill but that's not to bad! If you had a net worth of 4 million you could buy it new and retire on it! Second hand 2.5million to buy and retire on it! Second hand is way better option you save millions!

@Lino Andrade no way azimut has always had the sharp edged pointing lines that make it look like a supercar and did not look like a princess! But this does like like a princess! I agree with other commentor that most yachts this size look similar but this azimut looks more like a princess! I probably should not of said they copied princess but if you look at previous models say a azimut 60 fly to a princess 62 fly you can clearly see one is azimut and the other looks princess! But now they look very very much the same! But bits hard with a boat at this size to look unique! Look at speed boats 20 feet long! They are look the same! It's a boat so not much you can do but use different furniture and layouts are hard to not loo the same well! Just an observation and I love some azimut! The 60 fly the s6 the new 68fly is amazing but I'm a princess man! No hate just an observation! Thanks happy sailing and God bless ⚓🛥❤🙏

Instead of fawning over the addition of so many stainless steel anti-chafing strips, why not insist on designers putting cleats and fairleads in better locations so the anti-chafing strips are not necessary ? Honestly, it's not rocket science... The clue is even in the name: they are FAIRLEADS so lines are lead fair - if the lines foul the hull, then they are not being lead fairly so aren't actually FAIRLEADS.

An emergency back-up bilge pump that is outside the cockpit on the other side of a locking steel gate... So the weather is bad, the boat is in danger of sinking, and one is expected to step outside the safety of a gated cockpit as far as is physically possible from the secondary cockpit helm controls to operate the last-resort pump ? Has this design team ever seen a yacht, let alone been at sea on one ?

A locker for storing mooring lines that can only be opened when the steel gate blocking off the aft platform (where there are mooring cleats) is locked shut... When are you most likely to need that steel gate open ? When handling lines during mooring... when the gate has to be shut... so you can open the locker to store the lines that you handle when the gate needs to be open... If professional boat reviewers don't point out these idiotic design flaws, boat builders will just keep making these sort of easily avoidable mistakes.
