His eloquent timing was the way he expressed himself he announced himself on the crease with shots of sublime quality. He would keep the viewers thrilled and excited as long as cricket is played. Ajju bhai used to come up with big scores when you thought he is finished, Eden gardens in Calcutta and greenpark in kanpur were his fav hunting ground, he was one of the few aggressive test batsman of that time, in one dayers he would promote himself to bat at number 3 and would come up with bigger scores, he is the only other batsman in early nineties who could play in today's team on merit after sachin

My favourite cricketer, whenever he's on pitch, we saw confidence of high level

Over my nearly half century of serious cricket watching l will make a few observations about Azharuddin. Of all indian batsmen I have been privileged to witness Azharuddin's strokeplay was the most attractive be it on leg or offside covering drives,cuts,glances,pulls,hooks etc. Nobody was better on attractiveness. This attractive at times audacious strokeplay was sustained for 2/3/4 sessions in tests. That creates a lasting impression. He was a naturally gifted strokemaker, a natural athlete therefore excelling in fielding too and a fantastic catcher and runner between wickets.All in all he was an exemplary cricketer from India may be best strokeplayer India has produced scoring higher than even great Viv Richards on attractiveness. Thanks Saqi bhai for this dedication to a wonderful cricketer who deserves far greater adulation.

I remember Azhar for his fielding. He was the only indian who used to dive to stop balls. Take incredible catches. He changed india's fielding.

Love you Sakki bhai. I still remember Pakistan's 1999 tour of India where you ended up taking 5 wickets in all 4 innings of 2 test matches, if Iam correct. Sadly India lost Chennai test match, yet it was one of the best India Pakistan cricket matches that I have seen till date. Stay safe and take care!!

Being an huge Indo Pak fan I missed that 1999 series completely because of some personal problems...I was cut from the whole world during those couple of years...how do I get to see those matches again!!! I was a huge fan of you Saqi bhai..

No one can break the record of Azharuddin's 3 consecutive centuries to start his career. He will remain to be in the hearts of all the cricket lovers around the globe. I was lucky to watch all his matches played in Sharjah. He was a cheetha in the ground and seldom misfielded. I think he hit two consecutive centuries in his last two test matches and could have been the only player to start and end career with 3 consecutive centuries. Please, correct me if I am wrong. His class and elegance can never be matched. Love you Ajju Bhai. You will always be loved or rarely hated but can never be ignored!!!💞♏

For cricket learners, need to add one thing here from Azhar Bhai. When he was captain he use to ask his team to practice 100 catches every day and the ball will stick in your hand like magnet.
