Sir, well done! You have just saved my bacon :) I had to migrate big TFS repo into Azure DevOps where we will be using GIT. Yes it takes time to calculate all the hashes for each change set, but to be honest it is rather pleasent to know that the history is maintained then staring from zero in terms of history. Once more, thank You on such a effortless explanation.

Did you run the PowerShell commands on the TFS server itself?

Is the same applicable for TFS to BitBucket migration ? Also, I did not see the installation of git-tfs in this video. Can the commands be done on Git bash editor instead of PowerShell ?

Git-TFS is installed via chocolatey. You could run chocolatey install from git bash editor in addition to that all the other commands can be run from bash too. The approach in the video shows how to convert from tfvc to git, this will work for both azuredevops hosted git as well as bitbucket or any other git hosting provider. Hope this helps.

There is a 256 character limit on the file path when downloading a tfvc workspace. My suggestion would be create the workspace in a way that you don't hit the 256 char limit which may be the reason some of your files aren't downloading into the workspace.

Can I create a sync between tfs and git repo to keep on pushing any new commits to new git repo?

Unfortunately not via a free tool. There are some commercial tools that allow you to setup continuous sync from tfvc to git repo.

Import into git lab is simply a push upstream to git. Are you hitting any errors?

Wiki is nothing more than just a git repo. You can migrate this between tfs to ado

Geeta Madhu sorry that isn’t supported. How many files do u have in the SharePoint based wiki that you need to move into azure DevOps wiki? See the docs in the wiki will be persisted in a git repo do u need them there? A better approach could be to have a wiki page that points to the links of the SharePoint based docs. SharePoint provides deep integration and therefore a better editing and versioning experience on docs than wiki does.
