    This is a good tutorial. However, you didn't say why you enable and configure BGP. Did you do this to ensure Internet traffic is routed through the local on-prem network? As Internet traffic by default is routed through Azure load balancer.

    Tunnels are going to be bi-directional just like any other IPsec tunnel and on top of that you get flexibility to use BGP as routing protocol. To answer your question, new route will be automatically installed based on encryoption domain spciefied by you while configuring tunnel. For internet traffic that's always internet gateway, one option is default or 2nd option is NAT gaterway which is managed service. Hope this helps.
