it is a shame that such a club as Ipswich is not in the top division of England. Fantastic club and what wonderful supporters. I would love to come to this club and watch them play, I don't care what class of England they play in. I have always been a fan of this club. Greetings from Holland.

This is how I remember Euro football nights as a kid, bloke smoking a cigar on the bench, klaxons, commentary sounds like it’s through a drain pipe, fans aloud to bring their own flags into the stadium... fantastic times. Ipswich were going for 3 trophies this season; Fa cup, league title and the UEFA cup. It’s also funny how people referred to this tournament as the Yootha cup back then.

Ipswich under Robson that season were arguably the most talented side ever produced in English football and had it not been that the squad was only 14 players and had to play 65 matches in four competitions including replays they would have won everything that season. They came close to doing it but injuries took their toll. They were playing three games a week at one point in three competitions.
