Unbiased Opinion : Not a fan, not a hater. He seems like such a fun, humble person and tackled the negative comments pretty well. If you know his mother, Raveena Ma'am, you'd know how iconic she is. I've seen almost every one of her videos and she's absolutely mother goals - super outspoken, crazy talented & just a cool mom. Her character reflects on his personality. Regarding his looks, I don't see why everyone should go out of their way to call him chakka or anything for that matter. And just because he dates someone older than him, it doesn't make him a bad person. We don't have problem seeing older boys dating younger girls, why do we cringe when it comes to younger guys dating older women? The sexism is unreal. Aayushman is pretty mature for his age and that comes from good upbringing. He's earned tons of respect from me and especially his mother for raising such a humble & mature guy.

Anusha Bajracharya Because over the years, this has become a societal norm that the guy has to be elder than the girl. Social and cultural studies suggest, since in past it was usually the men who used to provide for the women of the household, people always looked for older and well-off (at least relatively) men to marry off their girls. This could be one of the reasons why this idea became so prevalent. Besides, puberty starts earlier on a girl than that in a boy. If you look at 12 year old boy and a girl of the same age, you will find that girls would have attained reproductive maturity. During the ancient times, marriage or unison of a man and a woman happened during their adolescent age, so it makes sense that a man would be a little older than the woman so as to hold a healthy reproduction. This age difference was a norm back then that has been followed since millenniums. Next generations followed the same pattern mostly. Slowly the idea of the girl being elder to the guy became quite ridiculed. This prevented a lot of people to even think of it. Regarding other cultures, I can't really comment. In Nepal, unfortunately this can be seen almost all the time. From my personal experience I can say, I know a number of couples where the guy is younger to the girl by a few years and everyone around them has accepted them gladly. The main issue here is how big is the age difference, usually one or two years of age difference isn't a taboo. Well, social acceptance often plays a bigger role then we can imagine.
