haa when this song first dropped, soon as I heard the binary I instantly had to go type it into a translator. TrustTH1 is already a little suspicious but then I had the thought. "Wait... if he's saying it in binary. WHO IS HE TALKING TO?' That ending still hit like a stone hammer even if I was expecting it.

I keep changing which singer amazed me the most. Michael, Tommy k, Floor, Hansi, Nils, Tobias, Russell, just damn. Each time I get more out of it. Tobias now hits me, but Michael Mills just always wows me every listen. He should be a celebrity. Seriously.

So much this, soo soo much THIS :) My fav Ayreon album to date.

OMG, Floor is so majestic.

OMG... After watching the video a few dozen times I just realised that during the one/zero, binary section Mikes head appears the same side as the sound is heard. If the sound is in the middle, his head is centered, left in the ear head on the left, right in the ear head on the right. Even the amount of notes are reflected in the editing. Horizontal and vertical... How didn't I see that before?? Genius!!!

Everyone is awesome but Karevik and Kürsch bring this performance to an even higher exceptional level.

Once again Tommy Karevik proves just why he is my favorite vocalist

❤ I was literally blown away when I heard this. I can’t. I just can’t understand how such a brilliant mind can use other brilliant minds to create something like this. The whole album is just unbelievable. It has expanded my mind to whole new genres and now I’m researching all the singers and which bands they are from 😂. I love that the guest singers sound different from their original bands. It’s just all so amazing. Btw this came up as a suggested listen from KZread music. So Ja. Let that algorithm run. Hehe

Only learned of Ayreon by googling the history of Floor Jansen... and after listening to this track I feel the same as after listening to the first 2 or 3 Nightwish live performances with Floor... on impulse, I am afraid to dig deeper because I fear the rest of the songs might not live up to the promise this one makes... But as this turned out otherwise with Nightwish (I hardly heard a single song out of 20 others with Floor that was not GREAT), I am in hopes that Ayreon won't disappoint me either. Valley of the queens with Anneke and Floor gave me shivers up the spine... looking forward to exploring "The source" completely... but like a good book, I will not consume it in a rush, but take my time to enjoy and appreciate every bit of it.

I would argue, depending on your tastes, that the risk is definitely worth it. There are Ayreon albums/projects that I'm not the biggest fan of (for some reason, Actual Fantasy and Human Equation aren't my top picks), and they're still fine. But when Arjen does something that resonates with me... that's worth going through fire for. From The Final Experiment and Into the Electric Castle, to Star One, to 01011001, to the Theory of Everything (I personally *really* like that album, even if it isn't universally acclaimed like some of the other albums) and the Source. Between them all, they have so many insanely beautiful pieces with so much talent in them. Rambling aside: I'd recommend anyone to explore the works of Arjen more.

I felt EXACTLY the same. I first heard this music as a random track on Spotify when suddenly I was like "WAAAAAIT, is this the Blind Guardian guy?"

I don't know how LaBrie manages to sound better every time he works with Ayreon. And also, holy shit! This is what I call an All-Star cast. Just with LaBrie, Allen, Karevik, Simons and Jansen I'm more than happy, and Sammet, Kursch and Mills just make it even better. I guess The Source is next on my list of Awesome Records I Must Buy

I have been told that Arjen reads all the comments. This guy is a freaking genius, a creative mastermind and yet he gives his fans all the love you can ever hope for. Nicest guy on Earth !!!

@@hellothere4485 Yes, it's the binary representation of those letters in ASCII, a basic text encoding scheme computers use. 01110100 equals 116, which is a "t" in ASCII encoded text. At www.asciitable.com you can see all characters and try it out for yourself :-)

This song is in every way the one which will always give me goosebumps. How can it be so perfect... I have heard about Ayreon some time ago but never paid any attention to it. Then when I saw that Simone was in the video This Human Equation I listened to it as Simone is one of my favourite female metal singer. I listened once Valley of the queens but still I did not dig deep into Ayreon or any of the work done by Mr. Arjen. But it was one early morning about 2 am I found this song in KZread which was recommended to me after listening to This Human Equation from Transitus album and now I cannot spend the day without listening at least once. It feels so addictive. Then I did my research to other videos/songs by Ayreon and Star One and it never cease to amaze me. I will forever be a fan of Mr. Arjen and I will see that my sons will also like the songs of Ayreon and Star One. God bless you Mr. Arjen. Stay healthy

*New Ayreon album coming out *Trying not to get in the hype train to get an unbiased and calm opinion on the album *Listen to this *OH MY GOD IT'S THE BEST THING I'VE EVER HEARD

I love listening to your albums while I bake (kind of weird, haha) and especially this one. My daughter likes a completely different style than me, so I try to take turns to the music we listen when she helps me in the kitchen. Last week, while making butter cookies for the family, she said she wanted to surprise me with the music, and yes you guessed it she searched for this song and played it! She's 8. I was indeed surprised! So, your music is amazing and helps us share beautiful moments. And we had the best cookies ever.

This was recommended in the comments of Floor and Simone doing Sancta Terra...i am so glad I saw it as this is AWESOME!!! I can't wait to listen to the rest of the album. Thank you for the effort and the ingenious use of multitude of talent. Wow. Thank you!!!

I keep rewinding to 3:10 because Tommy Karevik just keeps blowing my mind with that voice and energy :)

S3lvah nah, he’s held back in Kamelot. For true Tommy, you gotta go with Seventh Wonder. I’d recommend The Great Escape.

I love how some of these vocalists tend to sing way better when it's about Ayreon! Seriously, there might be a magical atmosphere where their skills gets automatically improved by 200% or something like that hahahah

They often just sing in more different styles probably so you hear the full range of their Skills

A video that makes a 13-minute song fly by you, using only studio footage and trivia in the subtitles. In a way, it has to be one of the best videoclips ever made, and probably the most definitive Ayreon song.

I can't even tell you how many times I have watched this. Michael Mills' head popping in always cracks me up.

I am such a huge fan of Ed Warby, his drumming on that "galoping bass" part gave me severe chills.

WOW, that Mike Mills part was goosebump city.

Mike Mills section it's one of the most beatiful harmonies that I ever heard in my 37 years of existence

I just listened to this for the second time since a new friend turned me on to it last night. every aspect of this recording is impeccable.I watched something live by Nightwish before this that was equally mesmerizing. I'm excited about finding sonic landscape that I was unaware of at the age of sixty four.

Amazing line-up of singers! I could listen to Tommy Karevik all day, every day!

That final Arjen solo is astounding. First time I heard it I burst into actual tears, which was a great surprise both to me and everyone else on my train.

Dear Arjen, I am not sure if you will read this, but if you do: thank you for existing and creating this album. Since I have found it, I cannot listen to anything else. It is so unique and at the same time for a few riffs, I can hear all the bands that I normally listen to. Sometimes a riff reminds me of Dream Theater, Nightwish, Rammstein and also Maiden but at the same time, it is completely different. To sum it up, thank you for creating this - and by the way, now I call my computer "The Frame" :)

His voice is not legal. Karevik is my favourite of all of the singers in this song.( All are incredibly good but Karevik is the best)

What a great song. I love it. Great vocals and I love the flute since i saw Jethro Tull in 1969 for the first tiime 😄

I think I've been preparing my whole life just for.this album.

I clicked this by mere chance cause I was bored. So glad I did. Edit: Also this guy is insanely geeky which is sort of adorable and unexpected after hearing this. Edit #2: IT'S FLOOR. I literally screamed. There was concern in my household.

I'm always impressed by this talent that achieved something Zappa never did. The singers and Lucassen took the vocals to a new level.

A masterpiece song showcasing different mysc genres and a stellar line-up of vocalists. Only Arjen and Ayreon can achieve this! Lovin it! It is so beautiful!!! Among my top 10 songs forever💗🎶🤘🏻

I found Avantasia a few years ago and instantly fell in love. Through my efforts of trying to find similar music I came across Ayreon and the theory of everything, and again I instantly fell in love and to this day Ayreon is my all time favorite project with Avantasia a close second. To have Tobias on an Ayreon album now is like a dream come true.

That was the same route for me. I love these projects. They're like an Avengers for Metal. Tobias has to have the best vibrato going though.

Album of the YEAR!!! I've said!!!!

Have heard some of Ayreon earlier but this is the first time I'm listening to this album and I'm totally blown away! I am from Sweden and we are supposed to be fairly good in english but now I wish that my english vocabulary was better than it is... I can't find the right words for what I think and feel of this, in my ears, masterpiece! Loving every part of it! Whatever music you do Arjen, don't stop doing it!

A couple years later and I love listening to this with full volume as if it is my very first time !

Only just found Aryeon, soI decided to stream the Source album, give it a listen before deciding on whether or not to see if I should purchase the physical version. The whole album is a treat to listen to, now have to get the cash just so I can enrich Amazon and buy the Album( CD) ..

"The bluesy part" is my favourite part of the whole album ! lovin' it

What an amazing bunch of singers to work on one album, and even on one song. My favourites are Hansi and Floor, but honestly the whole thing sounds amazing!

This is legitimately one of my favourite videos on KZread ever. The amount of info Arjen gives here is just so amazing and the song itself is a prog rock masterpiece.

Someone can explain to me what I did just heard!?!? Michael Mills destroyed!!! I never heard him, now he already convinced me! Great music!!! Ayreon is probably the best band of this century till now, seriously.
