If you're fond of Damian Wilson, look at "Twisted Coil", a quite dark song. Seeing him appear into the Electric Castle frey: The song "Isis and Osiris". Damian is the Knight there, where Edwin Balogh is the Roman, Simone Simons is the Indian, Anneke van Giersbergen is the Egyptian and Fish is the Highlander.

Guilt Machine is great, too.

Damian is brilliant. A master of Vocal Control. Twisted Coil from 'The Electric Castle and Other Tales' Live, is worth watching if you want to see his true abilities. Love Damian's voice.

As well as the stuff Damian has done with rock and prog bands, he also spent 2 years playing the lead role of Jean Valjean in the touring production of Les Miserables.

Marcel Coenen is a magnific guitarist. Worldclass....and so unknown...🤔

I have seen Damian Wilson some weeks ago in Heerlen - de Nieuwe Nor (The Netherlands) and it was magical. An acoustic set of his own songs and it really hit hard. Cried! That guy has the ability to touch your heart. And before, during, in the pauze and after the set he engaged with the visitors and walked on the floor talking to us. Besides Ronnie James Dio I have never meet a singer that gave me the impression I was part of his life and felt friendship.

Funny you mention Dio. He said the Damien Wilson was the most dynamic singer he knew of. He really liked Damien.

After his amazing show in the Boerderij (Netherlands) he came for hugs and hello’s at the bar, he agreed that he probably hugged all 15.000 Ayreonauts in Tilburg before and after the 5 shows of Ayreon. He is such a nice man.

I've been trying to get a few reactors to react to your music. A young band paying there dues. Deserve exposure.

And the Druids Turn to Stone is the ninth song on Universal Migrator Part 1: The Dream Sequencer. Plot. In 2800 BC, the Colonist witnesses the creation of Stonehenge, which was the result of a ritual performed by a group of druids who performed a magic ritual to turn themselves to stone for unknown purposes. About the mic technique: there is indeed a purpose and it doesn't have that much to do with him singing higher notes but more with the volume. He is carefully avoiding the microphone to be overloaded when he really goes for it, which makes the job of the soundman so much easier. Damien Wilson is a total pro, has done lots of other work as well including musical theatre and that clearly shows here. And the keyboardist: sir Joost van den Broek (Arjen's right hand man). Basically all the songs you did (except this one) were the ones recommended by NightWish fans. Those songs are not bad, but definitely not the best Ayreon has to offer. I hope you will do more live Ayreon songs in the future.
