    I agree, for me Perma-sharp and Wizamat were my 1A & 1B.

The Apex AL is a great razor, I was able to borrow one during my holiday and had fantastic shaves with it. I have the OG Apex SS+ and I'm eyeing the new standard base plate for it. This was a stellar shave! Cheers!

@shaveandtell it’s really really impressive. Keeps moving up my list of DE 3 piece favs very quickly.

@rgsudusky it’s as good as you said for sure. Mild but very efficient for how mild & forgiving it is.

Welcome back! I have the SS Apex and the Aluminum in Silver with a blue bottom plate. Hope you had a great time camping!

@aTexanshaves it was the best camping trip I’ve ever had. You could walk to the lake from our campsite in 5 minutes. We had 3 paddle boards. The water was calm and easy to paddle around. We basically lived on the lake for a week! We glamped with air mattresses, 3 burner grill & pizza oven! We ate like kings. Memories the kids will have forever. It was worth the 10 hr drive each way. I’d like to try more of the Aylsworth lineup now.

@@Stubblemeetssteel Sounds amazing! i prefer the SS Apex over the aluminum. But the aluminum is still very good.

@atexanshaves more plow through with the heavier SS? Or just not a big aluminum razor fan?

@@Stubblemeetssteel I find it slightly more efficient. And yes I do like a heavier razor. I am coming around to Aluminum though. I like the Shave Dad Alpha razor. I think due to the beefy handle though.

Couldn’t agree more with your thoughts John. I find myself reaching for this more and more on my off days. I still think the timeless slant is my favorite aluminum, but this is a dang close second. Can’t wait to see how it stacks against the lupo and the bison for you!

@colletteclassic the apex is a great razor. The timeless slant review is up next. The apex will be very hard for the lupo and bison to beat. I think it’s going to be timeless vs apex for the final showdown.

@@Stubblemeetssteel that’s good to know! If I already have the two best then I don’t see much point in grabbing the others. That glacial bison does look tempting though… if only for the looks!

@@ColletteClassicis your soap tallow based? I couldn’t find the “storm” scented on atexanshaves was talking about. Sorry I’m a little slow I never connected the dots by your screen name who your were 🤣🤣🫣🫣

@@Stubblemeetssteel hey no problem! I try to keep the growth as organic as possible by not shilling it all the time! It’s a not tallow based no, but both bases are good performers. I did a lot of work balancing them out so don’t let the non-tallow fool you! The “storm” scent is actually the Clean Sheets (ozone & linen) scent and we offer that in the CC1 formula for now, though it’s popular enough that I may eventually have to make a few batches of it in CC2 😅

Interesting, I'm eager to see how it compares to the Karve Bison or the Razorock Lupo, especially the bison as they have very similar specs (but different geometry obviously). PS: Agreed for the Perm-Sharp they are excellent for me, so are the Wizamet Super Iridium and the Gillette Nacet

@sagurosmart4100 not to spoil it but I will be surprised if it doesn’t win for me personally. If you prefer more blade feel then you may enjoy the lupo or bison more. The timeless AL I feel will be its stiffest competitor.

@okiesdokie_cool I’ve only tried the mild Henson. My dad wanted me to order him the medium until I told him it was $75+. He had me order the lupo instead so we never tried the medium let alone the aggressive. I didn’t care for the locked in angle back when I tried it.
