I SWEAR TO....GOD. Sidon Joseph performed this song for me and my aunt first before the world, back when i was in Haiti. on the balcony of our house. He was a friend of the family, used to come by. And then we saw him performed this at what used to be Haiti's talent show where he won the contest after singing this song The video of that talent show, kzread.info/dash/bejne/fmGi2rpyaLDJebw.html. It then became popular on the world stage. It is surreal to see this and it truly takes me to another world hearing it, i feel like i was there. It was a different life back then. Takes my breath away.

I remember that song 1986 like today, the year prior 1985 I was coming from school by Lalue rushing to go home streets are bad then arriving between Ave Pannamericaine ( Lalue) and Ruelle Vaillant here was a truck filled with tontonmakout came from that Public School, blood from this school down the street, then the public took one of them from the truck despite they were shooting at the public I was right in the middle of it, my foster mom was in bed crying cause I'm still not home ( li pran kabann). For the first time I witness how they burned a human being still vivid in my mind.. I walked home blood was all over me, they thought I was a zombie....my foster mom and every body else started wiping my face and keep saying: Jidou my nick name : ou blézé, pyéw kasé...it was bad. Every time I heard that song it brings me back to in a second how dark our beautiful country has turned since then. Today I'm married, 4 children and still talk about Haiti 🇭🇹to our children....in fact we opened a take out and named it. Pearl Of The Antilles...
