Never heard of Sam Tallent before, but I'll sure remember him now. Grew up in a small town (pop. 600) like he did, could relate to so much of what he was saying about rural living. Working in a bigger city now, all those memories just came flooding back from my childhood. So funny, so good.

This is one of the best episodes yet! Sam is so fast on his feet and always has a story at the ready. He needs to have kids, just so he can become that Gpa that shocks his grandkids with tales of his youth (Gpa did Jet plane meth?!?!?😱😂) And T-Bone did a great job with questions when Sam had you guys in shock and back on your heels a couple of times, with his wild answers. All together a great episode!

This was another good one. This pod is always fun, especially if you grew up garbage. Everyone likes a relatable podcast.

I still come back to this episode. It’s so goddamn funny. A meeting of the opposite minds with east coast suburban trash and western rural trash. 😂

We had a fishing shack so the crab shack makes complete sense 😂 I'm from a one stop light town in Oregon with 100 in my graduating class so Sam is speaking my language. I love it.

Fantastic episode! I was first introduced to Sam on Bert's podcast when he was promoting Running the Light. Instantly bought the book and loved it.

Just finished running the light. It genuinely is a modern American classic. One of the most entertaining reads I’ve had in a while
