This is so sad. I was in this beautiful community many times in 1998 selling outboard engines to the local fishermen community. God have mercy, despite the historical record of the community. Ayetoro is located in Ilaje Local Government Area of Ondo State- if the local government had not been changed by the politicians. Ondo State government what are you doing? NDDC where are you? This community should be a tourism centre in Ondo State for Christians all over the world.

You guys need a very strong Levy to be built by your State Government. Unfortunately, Global warming is happening all over the world. I will advise and encourage you to organize a peaceful rally to the Ondo State Governors office in Akure. Another way is to get the Nigerian Press involved so that they can really publicize this issue.

When i visited this place in 2014, the whole area where the sea has taken now with those short woods visible were communities, there was a church programme that day, it is a community built over the ocean.

What I want to tell the Ayetoro people is that ,they should be very careful , and make sure that they move far away from the sea, because the ocean wave is going to be more greater than what they are seeing now . And it is going to be more dangerous for their living. We don't have good government in Nigeria. The government we have are thieves and embezzlers, it is only God who created the Land of Nigeria that can repair Nigeria, if you are in Nigeria, please don't take your cry to any government, that your cry to Jesus Christ, he is your creator, and only him can stop the waves of the see from destroying you. And what you need is praying to him , and believing that he will do it.

What has the state government been doing with all the wealth and allocated public funds. What is the federal government doing. Where is the local government. We are their state of assembly members and Federal House of representatives members. Ondo state is an oil producing state. Where is Senator Jimoh Ibrahim for Ondo South Senatorial district...... Community founded in 1947 . Thats a brand new town . Meanwhile Ijaw communities of Ogun and Ondo are no more since even before 1920 because Yoruba people took over the land just as this Ayetoro. I read in one Ogun peoples history written by them that their EKINE cult society was copied from the Ijaw that lived at the southern side of Ijebu land . Ekine is still practiced in Rivers state by The Rivers Ijaw . Meanwhile the Ijaw natives at the South of Ijebu land is no more but we are having Ilaje new communities instead ,. Ocean surge is a normal problem Ijaws have been dealing with . Its natural disster and very expensive to handle . Arogbo, Apoi and Igbobini Ijaws were founded way back in the 6th century

Yes, I agree with you that Ondo states has oil wells and they are getting a big federal allocation for being a crude oil producing state and the state government is in a position to assist the community to build structure that will arrest this Atlantic ocean water surge or pressure. But it is high time regions that are not blessed with crude oil money look elsewhere for money and take their mindset from overdependent on crude oil money. This is because crude oil money is a lazy man 's idea of investment and it is what has kept the northern part of Nigeria economically down for so long. As the Hausas, Fulanis, Nupes, Kanuris etc put all their hope on one single products which is crude oil money. The northerners are prepared to wait for the one kobo that is generated from crude oil sales whether Nigeria is making economic progress with that mentality or not they do not care. states in the south west region of Nigeria should start brainstorming and searching for method on how to grow their internally generated revenue off crude oil money and off federal allocation from Abuja. You guys in the south west abandoned Agriculture and followed Hausa / Fulani to focus on crude oil money. What happened to your cocoa in the south west? Yoruba were also good in other cash crops like kolanut, cashew nuts, yams, plantain, oil palm. After Chief Obafemi Awolowo all following yoruba leaders became spoilt with crude oil money including Obasanjo and they follow Hausa and Fulani to embezzle crude oil money.

So you want to tell me that there have not been mishaps from wherever you emanate from since the election and does that mean it is linked to the choice ypou make in voting?, guilt tripping is a sign of the highest form of weakness.

Obasanjo was President of Nigeria for 8 years Plus the 4 years he had as Head of State of Nigeria under military government. What did he do with those years of service? Nothing ! But Executive Busy Body ! Junketing all over Europe and wasting Niger delta people 's oil money. He forgot to develop the south west region that he came from. Even his native Ogun states that is claimed to have a lot of medium scale industries is over hyped. There is nothing spectacular about Ogun state as per industries and development. They have a lot of bad roads in Ogun state and there is mass poverty in Ogun state like other places in Nigeria.

So the villagers can't organise a cleanup of the rubbish along the coast?
