Just got to that part in the episode. Glad to see another GG fan XD Edit: Fantastic video as well. Had no idea that the art for the card was done on physical canvas! Beautiful piece of art.

@@sebastiansahlin4472 GG is short for 'Game Grumps'. They're a youtube channel that do lets play style videos. In one of their videos, they're playing Magic and this card comes up as one of the hosts of the show says that the art is really good and that there is a video online of the artist painting the cards art.

Pan bro 0-o? i’ve been waiting for the gum Road of this for forever. Do you have any plans on releasing a long version on your gumroad?
Is there an ETA on the Gumroad version? Can't wait to add this one to my library.
Excellent work as always :-) BUT! I do have a few questions regarding your process: 1) how do you transfer the thumbnail/digital sketch to the canvas? 2) is the underneath sketch drew with pencil, charcoal or something else? And: Is it save to have that underneath the oil paint? I read something about that it can later cause problems. Or do you using some fixative sprayed over it? 3) When you do your first value-pass with burnt umber, how come that your later color layers do not cover it whole, but they act like some "multiply layer" that modulates the color? Are you using transparent colors or some special medium, or are the colors just really that thinned? :-) Thank you very much mister. Also, if these questions are answered in some of your gumroad videos, I am more than happy to buy them :-)

1) either Saral transfer paper or a art projector (both found at art stores) 2) I use spray fix over the pencil or matte medium or both. Haven’t had a problem yet! 3)it’s exactly like a multiply layer. I want to start warm and slowly add cool colors so the warm colors show through in the transparent shadows. It’s either a mixture of OMS and some sort of medium, either linseed oil, artists painting medium or liquin. Thanks for asking!
watched this over a dozen times, even have the full process video and i just realized it's just a series of thin layers/ glazing XD i've been using too much opacity
Do you have any instructional videos for oil painting? I would love to see the process and hear what your thinking in real time at various point of a painting like this.

Ah, nevermind. Just saw the description, and thought that gumroad only had similar demos, but it looks like they're discussion and process stuff too. I purchased a couple.
I’ve painted before with gloves and found it extremely uncomfortable and affects the feel of the brush, is there a reason you don’t opt to use something like WN Artguard?
Do You use wet on wet method ?
I am glad to have found this vid and seen the actual color of this piece. Just my opinion, but I feel WoTC ruined these beautiful colors when they photoshopped the crap out of it for card production. Great work here sir.
How much?
Listen along you know listen that day.
Hey LA Beast here...
