Nice post of real talking drum of the old days. The drummer and the interpreters are masterpiece of the deep Yoruba proverbial words of the drummer. Who could have known this without the interpreter? Thank you for taking us back to the old days. It is lovely to listen to genuinety of Yoruba accent of the early time.

My late Dad's love for late Lasisi Ayanyemi's Drum mastery is unequalled. My Dad can decipher any word spoken with Drum & i think i gained that from him as well. But i must confess that none of my Sons can speak 1 sentence of undiluted Yoruba. SAD.Egbon Tunde Kelani's epic movies - SAWOROIDE & AGOGO EEWO were a Tribute to this ace drummer. Rest in Peace, Laisi Ayanyemi Ati Oko Wa Gbowo ni ile! Love you to bits!

EgbaAlake Wow! Time surely flies. Alhaji Adegoke Adelabu died in a tragic car crash 60 years ago near Sango Ota round about. You see, we have lost a great deal of our musical culture. But by dint of hard work of people like you, it is hoped that this genre of skilled musical oratory could be revived. Kudos to you sir for your relentless research in finding this gem and posting it. Thank you.

@@razakabbas4253 My father, late Honorable Alarape Lawal knew Penkelemesi Alhaji Adegoke Adelabu like God knew Moses. They were in NCNC together pre independence Nigeria. God rest their souls. I enjoy this guy's drumming like Penkelemesi did.
