Will metformin delay the absorption of B12 ? Pls explain.

Yes.. Chronic use of metformin can cause delay it its absorption. Please see my video i uploaded today

Metformin was prescribed for me for polycystic ovary but it finally affected my kidneys and now I am on dialysis. My friend who took metformin affected her eyesight so she discontinued it and her eyesight became normal.

Usually you are supposed to keep checking your kidney function on a regular basis at least every 3 months, when we see the creatinine levels goes higher we usually lower the dose or stop the metformin. People on Metformin usually end up on dialysis usually because the diabetes gets worsened. Same thing with eyesight as well. Diabetes worsens the retinopathy so need to make sure to go to the eye optometrist on a regular basis.

I am using sitaglyphtin metfformin combination? My HB A1C lastly 5.4 What is ypur advice? Jenumet 50/500 morning and metfformin plane 500 evening.

As long as you excercise and watch your carbohydrates you can probably be only on the plain metformin until max dose reached and discontinue sitagliptin coz a1c 5.4 is kind of low for someone already diabetic and the potential for low sugar is high. Check with ur doctor. Or may be u can stop the evening metformin n do a 30mts walk instead in the evening. And see how your sugars are. Check with ur doc.
