Axle Shaft Breaking

Should not have broken. Took it back and they took care of it without charging me.

Why is he so choppy on the throttle, is he in 4L? Isn’t the goal to lock them up and crawl?

I'm surprised you broke a Chromoly axle that easy. Unless the passenger side front was more bound up than you can see from this angle. Even with 37's it looks like it broke too easy.

Looks like John Bull Gatekeeper. Was that your stock axle shaft ? Assuming you were locked up from it didn't look like you were torquing on it too hard. And lastly how did you get off the mountain after that ?

Yeah, GateKeeper. No, they were chromoly shafts but it was only a D30 with 37" tires. Still shouldn't have broken on that, though. I have since upgraded to a PR44 with 35 spline RCVs. But I still climbed the mountain! I still completed the rest of John Bull to the end without any winching! Just some patience and really good spotting from friends. Three-wheel drive all the way up! :)

If you’re running 35s stick axle should be ok but 37and up always beef up your axle with some c gussets for the knuckles and axle truss.
